“Noisy!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

We were in San Fran for the last night of a great week and chose Hyatt for their reputation. We were given a 6th floor bay view room. The room was nice enough but the outdoor bar music and noise was extreme. Tried to rest for a few minutes in the afternoon and it was impossible. Would not recommend staying in any bay view room when the dj is there. Disappointing to say the least

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for a week of vacation in San Francisco and had a great stay. The hotel is located in the heart of Union Square and is close to everything you can think of. There is great shopping, dining and bars all within walking distance from the Hyatt. We never ate at the hotel, but did get drinks one night at the bar, which were a little pricey, but we expected it. The room we stayed in overlooked Union Square and had great views of the city. The room was always clean and tidy. Our room had a king size bed that was very firm. I prefer a more soft mattress, but was able to manage with the bed for the week. The black out drapes were a nice perk and did an amazing job keeping the light in the morning. The in-room WiFi was fantastic and never gave us any problems. The front desk staff and bellmen were great. We had an issue one night with the people next door to us coming home drunk and making too much noise. I called down to the front desk at 2:30 AM to see if they could do something about it. They sent not one, but two security members up to the room in no less than 5 minutes of my call, I was more than impressed. Susan (I think that was her name) helped us out at the concierge's desk to plan a day trip to Monterey/Pebble Beach and rent a car for the trip. She was also a big help with making reservations for dinner on a few occasions.

Overall, my wife and I had a great trip to San Francisco and the Grand Hyatt played a major role in it! We would definitely consider staying here again if we came back to San Fran!

Room Tip: The beds are very firm, so if you like a soft mattress this isn't your place.

Location is excellent, next to Union Square. Parking is a rip off at 45USD per night. Staff are helpfull and friendly. Soundproofing is dreadful. Constant noise coming into the room from adjacent rooms and from the outside. Very high tec power shower heads but low water pressure render them useless. Would I stay there again? No chance !

This is a nice hotel in San Fracisco. The rooms were on the smaller side, but they were clean and furnishing was up to date. The lobby was very nice, but a little small for the size of the hotel, so I found myself going to the meeting area where the conference rooms were located. The front desk service was great and the entire hotel staff was able to deliver extraordinary service. The location of this property is great, short drive to North Beach and the Piers. If you park a car, leave at least 1/2 hour for them to pull it around.

This is a very nice hotel located right next to Union Square. Handy for all the shops and the cable car terminus for that run down to the piers. We had a room on the 32nd floor with great views over San Francisco. We had room only but the hotel did have a coffee bar on the ground floor which was sufficient for a quick breakfast in the room. We did not try the restaurant as there is plenty of choice on your doorstep. Overall a very nice hotel in a great location.

Room Tip: The rooms have a full glass window ( floor to ceiling) so get a room as high up as possible for the...

Enjoyed every moment of our stay. The staff are just wonderful- from housekeeping to bell desk to reception, the service is flawless. Reception and concierge are fantastic. The concierge, Joanne booked our Alcatraz tours and we found her so efficient and friendly.

The refurbished hotel rooms are well designed and thought out. They are not mean with their amenities which is important as many 5 star hotels are skimping on basic stuff like shower gel these days which is frankly ridiculous!
The negatives:
the accommodation definitely has poor soundproofing of adjacent doors. We were on a quiet floor on level 28 but we could hear a crying man and noisy family on either side of us. They clearly didn't understand the concept of quiet floor!! The only other negative was the bath plumbing which made continual strange noises when the bath tub was full.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. I must agree with you our concierge staffs are superb! I'll be sure to share your compliment with the team. However, we do want to apologize for the noise from other guests and the bathtub. Your comment is very important to us and it will be reviewed by the management team. We hope this single issue will not deter you from visiting us again in the future. Hope to see you again.

Warm regards,
Tiffany

The hotel is huge and extremely well located... Like one block away of everything!
Room, although is a little too small is great and has a little bit of technology everywhere - till today I'm wondering where to switch on main room light.
Minibar unfortunately is empty... ;(
Breakfast restaurant is too small for the size of hotel and service so so... Buffet ok but not enough variety ...
