Hotel has been under re-construction for three months which should be ending in 3 weeks. Rooms have been updated, furniture is great and the bed very comfortable. Window treatments make the room dark and the ac is cold. Staff is handling the construction well and are very helpful during this time. I will be abck at this hotel.

Great location (5 min walk to Fishermans Wharf) and very professional staff.

A bit expensive, but most Hyatts are. Room was very nice and service was great..would stay again. We had some travel laundry to do after a week in the states and the service was prompt and resonably affordable.

Room Tip: For couples, you cant go past a king bed (very snug & comfortable)

My husband and I were a little worried when checking into the Grand Hyatt as we'd been backpacking around the South of the US and had a load of rucksacks and gear with us, not to mention the very casual attire we were wearing! The moment we walked in we were treated like absolute gold. We had staff members rushing over to help us, and happily chatting and asking questions about where we had been travelling, even offering us water and candy!! We were upgraded to a high floor with a fantastic view over Union Square, and the room and the view were stunning!!!

The staff recommended some nearby pubs and places to eat, and the easiest way to use the public transport to get to all of San Francisco's 'hot spots'. Unfortunately the gym area was closed for renovations during our stay, but that was probably a good thing as we got to spend more time out and about San Francisco, which is such a wonderful city.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff at the Grand Hyatt were by far the friendlist, most genuine hotel staff I have come across - we will definitely be back!

Nice hotel, but building work was going on which was a bit rubbish as reception was half closed. Make sure you get what you pay for, they tried up downgrade us into a cheaper room as the place was busy - thought we wouldn't notice. Make sure to complain about anything that wasn't up to scratch as we got $100 of the bill when I said I wasn't happy. Great customer service!

My husband and I stayed at this newly renovated hotel and we were so glad that this was the hotel we chose for our stay in San Francisco. We arrived by taxi and were greeted by the valets with a smile and a warm welcome. Check in was a breeze and we were quickly given our room and told that the bell man would escort us upstairs with our luggage. The bell man was very polite and gave us a tour of the room and asked if we needed anything or had any questions. We were on the 16th floor in a room that had great city views with a glimpse of the bay on the left and the right. Our room was spacious enough and nicely decorated. I loved the big bathroom and the dressing room adjacent to it.. Nice touch. Loved the automatic blinds that you could control from your bed. The coffee maker and fridge in the room is a nice touch as well. The room and hotel is very clean and all the staff we met or who served us were extremely friendly and helpful. The concierge staff were so helpful and lovely... Even got a lovely comment by one about how nice my hair looked today. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was very nice... the view is magnificent. The hotel is located in a superb location close to all your shopping needs and all forms of public transport. Yes the lobby was still under some construction, but that did not impinge on our stay one bit. People who whine about this are plain and outright silly. Overall a great hotel, a very comfortable room/bed and a superb location. What else do you need!

Room Tip: Choose this hotel if you want to be in the heart of the city, close to major shops/ department store...

My room was very nice with a fantastic view of Coit Tower and the bay. Room size was generous and the bed was very comfortable. Closet and dressing area were a nice bonus. The bathroom was great...spacious, lovely shower. Nice to have a refrigerator and small coffee maker in the room. The only downside is that the lobby was undergoing a renovation which was inconvenient. It will be completed, soon, however and will undoubtedly be nice. Location is very central to downtown, chinatown and the Embarcadero. Would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our two stays at this hotel, pre and post cruise from San Francisco. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Beds were terrific. Housekeeping did a great job.

The front desk staff, concierge staff and bell boys were excellent.

It is in a terrific location for shopping and sightseeing. Terrific views from the higher floors.

My only complaint was that the foyer was undergoing renovations. Fine, I can cope with that. But the problem was that there was only one seat for visitors in the foyer. We had to stand waiting for our transfer for 45 minutes, as the only seat was taken. The staff kept looking at us and smiling, which is fine, but what I really wanted was a seat to sit on. Even a few temporary dining chairs would have been preferable to having to stand for that long a period of time. There was room for some temporary seating.

Other than that, all was fine.
