What a wonderful experience we just had at Hotel Drisco - a little European, a little 1920's - upscale without any of the attitude. Wish we could have stayed longer! Staff could not have been more pleasant - attentive yet not hovering - always available & room service without delay. Room nicely appointed & clean- wonderful idea to have a 'Pillow Menu'! The room was very quiet - easily got a good night's sleep. Wonderful location with beautiful views - short walk (about 4-5blks) to Fillmore street for dining/shopping.

The only negative would be the parking; while the hotel is in a lovely neighborhood there is no parking available because you are in a lovely neighborhood. We did find parking on the streets every time, but a couple times it took a little hunting. The next time we visit I think we will simply skip the rental car!

The Hotel Drisco is perfect escape from one's hectic life! Would highly recommended!

Everything at this hotel was outstanding. From the moment we arrived a few hours before checkin we were treated like royalty. We were sat with and given lots of very useful information that included explanation all of the complimentary services and items the hotel offers. From complimentary slippers to a nightly wine tasting the hotel really knows how to treat their guests. There was not a moment where I felt like I didn't get what I needed. Perfect mix of being there for their guests yet leaving enough personal space. Impeccable customer service all around. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

My wife and I stayed here from July 13- 18th. We are a early 50's couple and have stayed in other smaller boutique hotel and this one was right up there with our other experiences. The staff is super friendly, the breakfast and evening wine are a great touch, the hotel is super clean and it is in a beautiful neighborhood.
Pros:
1) Safe, quiet neighborhood
2) Attentive, friendly staff. All work hard to make you feel welcome.
3) Morning breakfast( 7:00am - 10:00am) and 5:00pm - 6:30 pm wine/ snacks a fantastic touch
4) Super clean and quiet hotel
Cons:
1) Rooms are on the smaller side and not highly soundproof. Not a problem for us but if had noisy neighbors or crying children, etc could keep you awake
2) 2 out of the 4 days, requested a wake up call and did not receive it. I am an early riser and was up anyways but would not be happy if depended on it.
3) long ways from city center. Have to either reserve hotel car in morning to take to city or bus/cab and evening find way back.
4) Not much night life other than stroll/walk. Fillmore St with shops and such is a good hike or cab/ bus ride away. Not realistic if dressed up to walk.
The Pros highly outdo any cons, just noted them for posterity and would definitely return if staying in SF again.

Room Tip: Would not want a room in front of the elevator on any floor.

Out of typical tourist areas, this is a quiet location atop Pacific Heights, in a neighborhood of grand homes. Nice room, excellent wine and cheese in the evening, and excellent continental breakfast. Possibly the most attentive staff we have ever experienced. The hotel is clean and attractive but the service is what made it stand out as a place to which we will return.

Shopping and restaurants along Fillmore are a walk down the hill.

Room Tip: City views from all sides; fourth floor best on the north and east sides

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Because it was a special occasion, we decided to pay a little more than we normally would for a hotel. However, Drisco was well worth it. The location is incredibly beautiful and it is a pleasure to return there after spending the day in the hectic chaos of downtown San Francisco. Every evening, it felt like we were going home rather than back to a hotel. Also, the complimentary services, including an amazing buffet breakfast and evening wine tasting (with more food), makes it more enjoyable to spend time at the hotel than to brave the sightseeing crowds. We would highly recommend it for an authentic and historical San Francisco experience.

Room Tip: The king size rooms are spacious and comfortable.
