“Very pleasant B&B in the heart of San Francisco”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Very nice small hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Excellent location for shopping, restaurants, tourist sites, and transportation to include BART and right on the cable car line. Rooms are moderate and very acceptable. They serve a full american style breakfast. Although an older hotel, it is well maintained. Suggest you not get the smallest sized room as it is a bit crampted, with insufficient space for your luggange and no chair to sit in. The only problem I had was the room was too warm, even with the window up and ceiling fan on. There is no thermostat in the room to regulate the temperature. For the money this is an excellent value.

Room Tip: The smallest size room is too small for comfort with very limited space for luggage. Suggest avoid...

This was our first trip to San Francisco on a four day stopover and we were so pleased we chose this Hotel. Welcome was great, room was not huge but more than adequate, really well appointed, nice bathroom and most important, a very comfy bed! The freshly cooked breakfast each day was an added bonus. The Hotel is in a good position and It was easy to get around to all there is to see and do. If we get back to San francisco will definitely be staying here again.

We stayed here as it had been booked for us by the friends that we were meeting in San Francisco for our first visit to the city. We had checked on this forum so knew more or less what to expect. We had a room on the second floor looking out onto a another wall along the side of the building so no street noise. The room was apparently part of a family room - basically two rooms joined by a shared bathroom, however we were assured that the other room was not in use so we would not be surprised by another resident whilst in the shower! The room was very small - no space for a closet, just a hanging rail with coat hangers in one corner, however, the room was clean and pleasant and had a TV, which we did not use. If we had been staying longer than 2 nights I think we would have been uncomfortable in such a small space, however, we were out and about most of the time so only used the room to crash out at the end of a very tiring day's sightseeing. The location was excellent - easy to reach all the sights we wanted to visit. Breakfast was fine, as other posters have detailed, and the lovely lady serving was quick, efficient and very charming. Compared to other hotel rates we had seen, this hotel seems to be quite good value.

Dear Sir,

San Francisco being " packed" when you came and the Reservation Organisations making no difference between couple or single you ended up in a room that we generally rent to one person.....If it had been possible we would have offered you a more suitable space. We understand, agree and thank you for your comment.

With our best regards

You need to upgrade the room, 208. New everything, including the bathroom sink. Maybe time to upgrade all of the rooms at some point. The beds were very comfortable. Maybe for now, just paint and new carpets. Sound proofing at some point; you could hear the people all around.

Room Tip: Free breakfast is included in the total cost.

I didn't know what to expect when I booked this hotel since it seemed like such a good value but the hotel was a pleasure. The location is perfect if you don't mind a few hills (we did not use a car), near both Nob Hill and Union Square. The staff were friendly and the rooms very clean. We paid extra for the dinner at St. Jeanne's and it was well worth it.

The hotel is beautiful and located in a nice part of the city. The rooms are very clean and comfortables. The breakfast is good and you have a place to leave the car. You can go out at night without problem, they give you the keys to enter.

We sincerely enjoyed our stay at your lovely hotel. It was different than any other we have stayed at. The atmosphere was charming and the staff was so helpful and kind. My parents were equally delighted with their room and couldn't stop talking about the restaurant! Great location too.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the view from the 5th floor!
