“Hotel Nikko Experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

Wonderful place to stay. We have enjoyed both our trips to San Francisco and our stay at Hotel Nikko. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Clean, ultra modern, and seems small even though it isn't. Refreshingly terrific place to stay!

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side are quieter and have a great view!

Lovely staff, excellent location, nice public spaces. Stayed one night on a voucher so got an excellent rate, perhaps the reason for the exceedingly small corner room, which I would not like to stay in again. Bed most comfortable, room clean, though extra pillowcases/towels left on the bed as though housekeeping forgot them there. Check in was slow, room furnishings quite chipped and not up to the 4 star rating. I would stay again at this room rate but only if I were sure of a larger room. I'd like to give them 3 + circles but can't get to 4. Additional fee for use of pool, parking quite high.

Dear Shabek
On your next visit I suggest booking a deluxe king room. They are quite a bit larger than the Petite Queen you experienced. I have forwarded your comments regarding housekeeping tot he department manager so that the staff may improve.
We hope you will give us another try.
With warm regards

You could not ask for a better location, friendlier staff, or a better place to stay while in San Francisco. If I ever travel there again, I will absolutely stay at Nikko - they made my week in town wonderful!

Nice clean and spacious rooms, professionals to core, Great Location in heart of Union Square the Shopping and Activity Area. Front Desk was quick to check in and for three persons obliged with an upgrade to twin queen beds @ USD 20 extra instead of agreed rollover @ USD 30 extra.
Negative Breakfast not included but lot of eateries around so help yourself

Room Tip: Higher the better

We stayed at the Hotel Nikko for a total of three nights. This hotel is a great place to stay purely for its location. Located in the middle of the city and within walking distance from Union Square and surrounded by plenty of places to eat.

The lobby is well present and I found the staff polite. There is a Starbucks located at the bottom lobby.

The room itself was very small. The décor of the hotel is Japanese. The bed was comfortable and the room was well presented. The bathroom was very pokey, but they provided nice soaps. Both the bathroom and the room was very clean. The room service was probably one of the best I have ever had.

San Fran isn't the cheapest place to stay, but I found this reasonably price. Due to the location we didn't require any transport and this was a key factor over other accommodation.

We recently stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of a trip around San Francisco. Really nice hotel with a really impressive entrance lobby. Room was clean and comfortable and the decor was really nice and modern. The main selling point of Hotel Nikko in my opnion is its location - 2 minute walk from Union Square and easy to get to the Bay area from the hotel too. Lots of hotels and restaurants and shops nearby to choose from.

Only negative I can think of is the large security deposit we had to pay on checking in. €300 dollars for 3 nights!

Dear Sinead O
Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay. We are pleased that you profited from our central location and our lovely decor. There is a security deposit taken on arrival which is commonly done in hotels. For guests using a credit card there is a hold placed on funds and released upon departure. The same is true for guests using a debit card, but the difference is that the hotel releases unused funds upon departure, but it often takes several days for your bank to credit back the funds to you. On your next visit you may want to check in using a credit card, but upon departure pay with a debit card.
thank you for staying with us. We hope to see you again soon!

We recently had a 3 night stay here. From our initial impression at check in, to our departure, everything was great - free wine every night from 4-8, close proximity to shopping & Union Square, great restaurants nearby & super comfy beds! What more could you want for a stay in SF!
