“Quick Weekend Hotel”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

Small review: very clean hotel, stayed there two weekends ago. Checked in Saturday midnight, checked out Sunday morning. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Hotel in impeccable condition. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING; perfect location. Hotel front desk and concierge very knowledgeable with the city. Room was in great condition - BEST HOTEL BED I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. BEDS ARE AMAZING, PILLOWS ARE AMAZING. If you can afford it, highly recommend it. There is a Starbucks in the lobby.

I booked a deluxe king room for two nights. I arrived early to drop off my luggage and attend a conference but I was offered an upgrade ($70 per day) that allowed me to check in early Friday morning (8:30 am). The upgraded room was on the Imperial floor, which requied a key card to access. The room had a great view and the bed and bathroom were both luxurious. The upgrade also provided the following: three Japanese/American brunches, two happy hours at 5 pm that featured heavy appetizer and beverage service. Other perks included spa access (steam/sauna), gym, pool and free wifi. The five meals included tip. Also, continental breakfast, newspapers and computer access were available daily on the Imperial floor.

We stayed here because every other hotel we checked required us to book a separate room for our 14 year old son. No one had a sofa bed or rollaway. I was put off by that. Hotel Nikko had a room with 2 double beds but it was on on the Imperial floors, which are more expensive. However, those floors INCLUDE WIFI and use of the gym and pool facilities, as well as free breakfast, and wine and cheese reception in evening. Staff was accommodating, and rooms were new looking and clean. Our upper level (24th floor) ensured a quiet nights' rest. However, room size was much smaller than I expected, seeing as it was the pricier room. Several good breakfast places within walking distance as wells cable cars and busses. Several rental car companies are across the street which we took advantage of for a day trip. the pool and workout area is immaculate and the workout equipment is state of the art, clean and new.

Stayed here briefly while on a trip to San Fran. The hotel is conveniently located by Union Square. Staff are quite friendly and the hotel and her rooms are clean and modern.

Wifi isn't free and checkout time is 11am as opposed to the standard midday. Breakfast wasn't included and like most hotels in this category, was pricey so didn't opt to eat in the hotel.

There's a music/concert venue on the premises which gives the hotel that something extra.

Hotel is nice and and obviously has the Japanese touch. However it didn't really have that wow factor for me. However don't let that put you off.

We only stayed at Hotel Nikko for 1 night but I wish we could've stayed longer! Our flight was cancelled and even though we were staying at the Marriott Marquis for 5 nights, the manager there decided that we weren't good enough to stay for 1 more day. We walked a few blocks and stumbles across this beautiful hotel... The staff was courteous and even showed us a sample room.
We loved that the hotel was across the street parking, next too all the awesome shopping & the trolley. It was a 5 min walk to chinatown so we took advantage.
All in all, it's a very tranquil & clean hotel that was close to everything... When we come back to San Francisco, we won't hesitate making reservations at Hotel Nikko.
