“Great Place”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We stayed at this hotel during September 2012 part business part leisure. It has great customer service led by Mr. John Weil Assistant Director of the Front Desk and some of his colleagues such as Charlene. I cannot say enough about John Weil. Our plans were constantly changing and he was always so accomodating and always helping us. I truly believe that our great San Francisco experience would not have been the same without John Weil's excellent service. I have a relative that manages a prominent hotel chain and I am sure that he would love to have someone like John Weil head one of his properties. John and the Hotel Nikko were main factors in us prolonging our stay in beautiful San Francisco. The Hotel Nikko is centrally located and the rooms are extremely comfortable and clean. All of this coupled with the excellent service from all staff led by John provided us with a superb experience. We did not have breakfast at the hotel nor did we utilize the spa facilities and as such cannot comment on them.
Overall this hotel's intrinsic value lays in it's exceptional customer service as evidenced by Mr. John Weil. The Hotel Nikko will be my home away from home while in San Francisco and have passed my comments on to my collegues and friends alike!

Thank you for your kind words. At Hotel Nikko, we strive to provide the best hospitality services to our guests and we were delighted to read that your experience with us was superb.
John Weil is a customer service superstar. Of course the staff,in addition to the ambiance, is what drives guests to come back.
Thank you again for your review.
We look forward to welcoming you again.

Last leg of a 2 week trip to USA and we were extremely tired after 5 nights in Vegas and a rough time at the airport. A lovely greeting from the doorman and fast and friendly check in was just what we needed to start off our first trip to San Francisco.
The hotel is clean and modern. Opening the door to our room was like entering a haven. Everything was clean and tidy and the decor is classy and modern. The bed was amazing to sleep in and we didn't hear any noise during our 3 night stay.
Location is great. Central, with lots of eateries at your doorstep. Starbucks is at the entrance (providing free wi-fi). Chipotle across the road, and Walgreens just a little further. Train station is a quick 5 min walk away.
Concierge was very friendly and welcoming and offered lots of tips for us first time visitors.
Pool is a good size, but the spa could be a bit bigger for the size of the hotel. Unfortunately we didn't get a turn in the spa as it was always full.
Overall, the ambience and service provided at this hotel makes you feel like you are staying in a little haven in the center of the busy city. Loved it!!

Thank you for your review. It sounds like your trip overall was amazing; 5 nights in Vegas would definitely take the energy out of me as well. However, you guys made a great choice by coming to Hotel Nikko. We’re happy to hear your expereince with us was a delight. On your next visit make sure you take advantage of our amazing spa.
We look forward to welcoming you again.

Check in was very quick, was a little disappointed as I emailed ahead to say it was out silver wedding anniversary in case any upgrades available.Asked at reception and was told none available but advised of charges but while we moved away from desk a man was checking in and offered a complimentary upgrade. The room was so tiny and looked out on another building,we did not use other facilities in hotel partly due to principal regarding upgrade as we could not understand why we were declined and someone next to us was given complimentary upgrade.Only asked concierge a question once and he was very helpful, did not use pool area at hotel(extra charge)as we wanted to see the sights of San Francisco

Dear Ramma64,
Thank you for your review. First and foremost, congratulations on your anniversary. Second, we apologize for the experience you faced. Our upgrades are usually given depending on factors such as the length of stay and type of room booked.
As for the view, may I suggest booking in any of the corner rooms starting from the 15th floor and up to get a nice view of either the city or The Bay.
We hope to welcome you again soon for a better experience. Please contact me directly at mstriffeler@hotelnikkosf.com

Separated our stay with four seasons san francisco and this beautiful japanese designed hotel during our 6 days in the beautiful wine country of SF!
Loved the design of whole hotel, the ambiance and decor in rooms, restaurants, bars, gym, spa and the whole propery!!!
superb & friendly staff, very welcoming concierge & reception ready to solve any problems , directions through the city or attractions, any inquires really....
Very impressed with the huge variety on breakfast including the oriental & japanese one ... also the ala carte with my favorite usa egg benedict!!!
s soon as you open the door you jump into the designer walks of luxury shopping of maceys, neiman marcus, bloomigdales, saks 5 th avenue, westfield, etc etc ... all you can dream to shop till drop!!! the rooms are minimal designed with japanese touch as the property was done by a japanese designer in whole....
would really loved to return to stay again if we ever fly to this beautiful SF again....
not to forget to mention the lovely ambiance when u walk through the health club and spa with the pool surrounded in glass roof with deck, beautifully decorated with such a warm relaxing emotion in there.... felt like was my home away from home!!! highly reccomend people to travel to SF to stay in Nikko hotel , they cant go wrong plus the best location if it... with a japanese heart!!;)

As a kidney patient, traveling can be difficult. My stay at the Hotel Nikko was top notch from start to finish. Jason Ngo saw to it that my disability accommodations were provided, without making me feel the least bit uncomfortable. From the moment I pulled into the driveway I was greeted and assisted. The room was clean, comfortable, modern with a pretty view. There were fluffy towels, there was a large bathtub, and all the necessities, as well as amenities. If there were any down sides, the bed was a tad mushy, and the tv choices were limited. But the staff was helpful, friendly, efficient and excellent. Great place to stay in the heart of the San Francisco! Thank you Hotel NIkko.

Nice hotel. Nice Wine bar each Day at 24th floor with a fantastic view.

But the "fast High-speed Wifi" is not working properly! It is slow and you are disconnected. To pay 15$ pr. device each day is just too much.

If you're music fan, this hotel has a jazz club off the lobby. The club hosts major jazz acts, this really surprised me!

The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was very nice. Very modern looking hotel.

Not much to view outside the hotel though. Mainly older buildings and a parking garbage. But it's just one block from Powell Street trolley and two blocks from Union Square shopping. Very convenient to Moscone Center - a short 10-15 minute walk.
