Place was perfect for our needs. Localized and access to all shops and good eats. Would have liked the room to have been bigger, but with a that we did we did not spend a lot of time in the room. Would visit again. Concierge was very helpful in obtaining tickets that were sold out on line for Alcatraz..and it put a smile on my daughters face.

Went to San Francisco with family and we stayed at this hotel as it was a Kimpton partner. It definitely had the Kimpton touch, but you cannot get loyalty points for Kimpton. The room was excellent; the bed so very comfortable! Check in and check out was so easy and the front desk very helpful. Loved, loved the free wine reception every afternoon and occasionally they had hot pizza as well. Free wifi and a comfortable roomy lobby with a fireplace. We did not have a car, so parking was not an issue with us. The location is superb! You are within easy walking distance to everything and also the bus should you want to branch out. I will definitely return to this hotel.

Just came back after a 3 night stay at the Tuscan. Being our first time in San Francisco, we went off previous reviews on TripAdvisor when we chose this hotel and so glad we did. Couldn't ask for a better location - close walking proximity to everything really (Wharf, Coit Tower, Alcatraz Landing, Lombard St., Ghiradelli Factory to name a few). We LOVED the wine reception and it was a great opportunity to meet people and sample some wonderful wines from local vineyards (there are also foccacia bread appetizers along with it, thank you!). The coffee/tea in the mornings were also welcome, if I had a suggestion, it would be for some complimentary muffins/buns along with it. Rooms were very clean, albeit a touch tight, but it was good enough considering the goal was to see San Fran, not sit in our room all day. Hugo (concierge) was also very helpful in arranging for our airport shuttle and giving tips on where the best deals were on Ghiradelli chocolates (Hugo, thank you, you were so right!!!) For ladies that love to shop, Ross is literally next door. I would have rated it a 5 however, I had both emailed a request and called the front desk in advance to ask for a room with a bay view. After being assured we'd been taken care of, we show up only to get a room with a view of the courtyard, facing the exhaust pipe, that was a bit of a downer. Notwithstanding, would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others planning to stay near the Wharf.

As a frequent traveler to San Francisco for both business and pleasure, i'm constantly expanding my base of hotels and places to stay depending on the needs of the trip.

I'm glad I had the recent opportunity to stay at the Best Western Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf, not only due to its convenient location for my purposes, but also for its value and decent service.

Rooms were fairly clean, price was fair, and check-in & out were simple. Not much more to ask when you're going to be spending minimal time in your room but need a solid place to sleep and refresh.

We will be sure to add this hotel to our list as a top value place to stay in San Francisco.

We have just had a 2 night stay here and found the Tuscan inn to be really really good. The checkin was exceptionally friendly and we had only booked for one night as it was busy the second night but they were able to fit us in which was great. We had a queen size room so a bit on the small size but so beautifully appointed with 2 luggage racks instead of the usual one we had no problems with the size of the room at all. It was quite charming and very quiet with a very comfortable bed. The location is fantastic and thought the drink reception was a great idea and well received by everybody. The parking is quite expensive at $44 plus tax but seems to be normal in the area. Would recommend it to friends and would definitely stay there again.

My friend and I had a great time at this charming hotel. We especially liked the front desk assistant, Thomas Macgregor, and how he went out of his way to make our stay delightful. The Tuscan Inn is close to all the events of the Fisherman's wharf along with catching any of the tours-biking golden bridge, wine, Muir woods. The best part of our day became the wine reception where we had a chance to meet many people from different parts of this country as well as other countries.

My husband and I just enjoyed a four night stay at the Tuscan Inn at the end of a three and a half week trip to the US. We had not been to San Francisco for twenty years and had previously stayed at the Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf.

The Tuscan Inn is close to Pier 39 and is literally a four minute walk to Boudin Bakery on the wharf. It's location is really second to none in that you are so close to the Wharf, the Hop on Hop Off Bus stops, tourist shops and a Super Sightseeing tour office.

The staff (in particular Mia) on the front desk were very friendly and helpful. We opted for a King Suite which was tastefully decorated with crisp white linens, white window shutters, a large bathroom, small sitting room, two flat screen tvs and a bar fridge (you kept the key for the bar fridge which was well stocked but of course over-priced). Our room # 415 had a view towards Fisherman's Wharf and we could see the Oakland Bridge from the side window.

Every day the Tuscan Inn provides tea and coffee in the lobby area (with a lovely open fireplace) from 7-00am until 10-00am. In the afternoon there is a Happy Hour where guests are served free wines and coke etc. My only gripe here is that it ran from 5-00pm to 6-00pm. Most days we were not back from our sightseeing until closer to 6-00pm so consequently we missed it. The older guests however thought it was great as they were always there, right on time!

The Tuscan Inn does not have a gym but you can buy a pass for 24HR Fitness which is located across the road in the Northpoint shopping mall ( a small mall but it does have a Safeway and Walgreens Pharmacy). This is the only hotel in our trip which did not have gym facilities and I think it a little rough to have to pay $12 a visit.

Unlike all the other hotels we stayed at which were of the Hilton Chain, the Tucan Inn also did not:
- Have a guest laundry where you could do the mandatory quick wash
- No complimentary continental breakfast
- Very limited storage space in the suite

The furniture in the suite was a little knocked around and two of the shutters had broken louvres which meant you could only turn them in one direction. We also found we had to run the air conditioning all night as there was a bit of street noise so it helped drown it out.

However a big plus is that next door to the Tuscan Inn is Ross for Less, a fantastic store that we had first encountered in Hawaii. It seems to be a clearing house for larger department stores so you never know what they are going to have in stock but you will find that their prices on shoes (all the top brands), designer clothes, luggage etc are second to none. It is always worth going and checking out what they have.

Downstairs and with an entrance from the Lobby is their restaurant Pescatore, serving beautiful Italian fare. I have written a separate reviw for the restaurant.

Overall I would recommend the Tuscan Inn. It has a great location, the staff were friendly and the rates reasonable.

Room Tip: Ask for a King Suite
