“Super Noisy!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2011

Wow, for the over $200.00 a night price we paid the room was like sleeping right out on the sidewalk. Super noisy! I heard every car, truck and bus that drove by. Not sure if I will ever stay at this place again. It was clean and convenient to the wharf but what good was the room if I could not sleep? Great place if you are not bothered by road traffic. Then to add insult to injury we were charged $50.00 to park our car there over night! Terribly overpriced!

We booked two rooms at the Best Western Tuscan Inn for a weekend in July based on the ratings the hotel had received in Fodor's San Francisco guidebook. We arrived around 7pm and had a room above the main entry. It was so noisy that we called the front desk and asked to be moved. The front desk said that they were sold out and couldn't move us and offerrred to send up earplugs. We asked if we could change to an interior room for the next night and again were told that the hotel was sold out. We tried to go to sleep at midnight but were woken up at 2am by street noise which continued the rest of the morning - so we didn't sleep at all. If you are a light sleeper - we do not recommend this hotel.

This Best Western was in a superb location and that has to be what you are paying for. There is not much to this hotel to be honest and the hotel website really plays it up. The "lobby" was nice though but then its just rooms pretty much. This hotel is trying and because of its location it does really well. If they updated the rooms it would be much better. We weren't in the room that much; who is anyhow...but I found the decor a bit "odd" and outdated...almost an attempt to be groovy...yes weird!

We pricelined this hotel and won it for $150. On the website and expedia they wanted $269 for it. I am telling you right now if I paid that I would be pissed! With that said for $150 a night the value was much better. I would NEVER pay $269 for it.

Now....LOCATION IS KEY AND WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. They would get 5 stars on location alone! But I must say...there is a Sheraton and a Holiday Inn within blocks that I personally would check out if I were staying in San Fran again. Check your prices and go with the best deal.

I stayed for two nights and was extrodinarily impressed with the hotel and particularly the staff. Keith on the front desk was very helpful and went out of his way to help. Other staff from cleaning staff to parking attendants very all very pleasant. I now have my hotel haunt in san fran picked out.

Street parking is free on weekends so skip the valet.

This hotel is at agreat location- 2 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. It has a very attractive restaurant and comfortable rooms. My only complaint is the parking- I think it was about $50 a night, plus you have to use their valet every time you get your car out, and we felt we had to tip each time.

Clean, comfortable and conveninetly placed. Comfortable beds, although room slighly on the small side. Never going to wow but as a comfortable base for exploring San Franciso with easy access to much of the city it was perfectly acceptable. And there were some nice touches, including a wine reception in the evenings and coffee and cookies in the lobby in the mornings.Helpful reception staff, concierge left something to be desired.

We stayed here one Sat. night in June before cruising to Alaska. Rooms were clean and spacious and the location great. Easy walk to restaurants, grocery, church, and drugstore. Helpful front desk.
