“Nice rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

My family stayed here in 3 rooms, for 5 nights.
Walking to the hotel from the Civic Center area/BART/Bus stops took 10-15mins but was not the most pleaseant experience, as the area had a lot of homeless people sleeping at the side of the street. We did the walk many times - and in the day it was mostly fine, but in the dark hours not so nice
I definitely recommend the MUNI bus pass, as we used the public transport a lot in the city.
Our one wish was that the hotel had a breakfast room. They provided a decent selection of breakfast items but they are in the reception area, and you had to carry your breakfast back up to your room - which was a bit of a juggling act!
The other downside is that there are flats being built next door to the hotel - and there was construction noise at 7am each weekday morning. This is not the hotel's fault, but was an irritation if you didn't intend to get up so early.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean & well serviced.

this was a family trip to San Francisco. As soon as we walked in to the room, it smell terrible. my kids walked out, didn't even wanted to step inside.
I went over the front desk, in whick I was told that was their regular room.
I wanted my money back, but I was told they will have to charge the Full Amount,
eventhought I only walked in and out of the room......
this is the first and last time I will go to any Days Inn.....not good at all!!!

A group of us stayed at the Days Inn during mid March 2013 and overall our experience was a good one. We arrived from the airport during the morning and were told that the rooms wouldn't be ready until mid afternoon (not a problem we thought, as most hotels need some time to clean up and prepare the room for the new guests once the previous ones have left). In the meantime, we took the opportunity to explore the area and found a lovely spot for a bite called "Flippers" on Hayes Street between Octavia Street and Gough Street. The reception did allow us to leave our bags which was very helpful.

Once the we got into the rooms, we found them perfectly adequate for our stay with a good level cleanliness throughout. In other hotels around San Fran. guests have reported bed bugs, but NOT during our stay at the Days Inn I'm pleased to report! The small fridge in the room was a little noisy, but we still slept well.

The one aspect that was not so great was the service offered by reception. On arrival we felt the receptionist was not the friendliest, not overly unfriendly either, but perhaps she could have worked on her people skills a little. During checkout however, there was another person at the desk (someone far less friendly who we believe works during the week as opposed to weekends). She looked South Asian, Indian perhaps, and was rather surly and didn't have the best client care skills at ALL. Nothing in the way of a smile or a greeting as you walk in to reception. Another guest asked how the TV remote control works and was told "You have a TV at home don't you?". That's the kind of attitude we received.

Once again, a great stay but some employee's client care skills needs to improve.
