Savored every morsel of food, loved the atmosphere, and appreciated the perfect service. The beef cheek, which is a regular menu selection, and the squid apetizer, were without a doubt two of the best dishes I have ever eaten. Both were so tender that they nearly melted in our mouths and were accented with lovely flavors that truly highlighted without overwhelming. Will long remember this occasion.

Coco500 is elegant and semi-expensive, with good wine choices and service. How disappointing, then, that its food was so uneven. Our first-course "special" of Dungeness crab bisque was bland and lackluster. Although made in the classic style, using the roasted shells of the crustacean, it lacked the sweetness of the crab's meat, nor was it rescued by bits of that meat sometimes added at the end. On the plus side, our other starter of pork belly was magnificent. Garnished with tangy slices of kumquat, it came swimming in its braising liquid of soy and balsamic vinegar, fork tender and unctuous.

Our mains were a dish of classic Bolognese, with a sauce as good as any we've had but the cavatelli under the sauce cooked far beyond al dente to serious mushiness; and beef cheeks breaded and fried. The latter were almost gelatinous, their coating mushy. A horseradish cream topping them was likely meant to offset the heaviness of the dish, but only added another layer of richness. Providing welcome relief was a generous mound of watercress in lemony vinaigrette, its refreshing and peppery-citrus bite the foil badly needed against all that opulence.

Although the portions were moderate in size, the heaviness of the meal made us too full for dessert. After reading raves about this place, we might be tempted to give it another try; but in a city of a thousand great places to eat, why bother?

It is a very good place to eat if you're in the area. Our server was very knowledgeable about both thefood and the wine. It is a short but delicious menu with excellent Italian style appetizers and entrees. I will be surprised if it doesn't become my colleagues favorite place when he moves to the neighborhood.

We were there at about 6:00 for dinner, and it started filling up at 7:00. It's a lovely neighborhood place with a nice selection on their menu. I had the bavette steak with roasted cipolline onions and a side of kale, and my husband had the lasagne. Not the traditional kind you get in a casserole dish, Ha! He thought it was delicious and light. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and I loved the seasoning and onions, but found the steak to be a little tough in texture. The kale was excellent, as was the service.

Dined here with a group from work. 8 of us and the bill came to $245. While the portions aren't large, the entrees are flavorful and delicious. Menu changes regularly. Try the mushroom bread appetizer, it's great. Parking can be a drag in this area, so park in the lot behind the Wells Fargo Bank.
