“Awesome Indian experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

by far one of the best indian restaurants I have eaten at on the West Coast. Felt like back home with the friendly staff, the noise in the kitchen and chatter of Indian customers :D Must visit when in SF. great food at reasonable prices.

“what a contrast - looking through the window and then the culinary surprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

We read the tripadvisor review - looked inside and still doubted a little.

Don't!! Just enjoy the meal Chicken Tikka Masala with the chilly naan. A real surprise! And the next is the bill, that leaves ample room for a tip.

We do respect that they don't serve alcoholic beverages, but you are free to bring your beer from outside.

It's self service. Take a menu, order and pay at the counter. The waiter only brings your dish. Tea and water is free soft drinks are in the fridge, just take what you need and pay at the end.

“Neighborhood gem-Indian food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

This is a small restaurant with excellent food and usually crowded with return visitors. If you like Indian food, it is a good spot to try.

“Traditional and delicious.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

I'd go back here again any day. I ordered the Tandoori half-chicken, and I'm not sure it came with breast, but it was delicious. I also ordered some Naan, and Dahl, (a chick pea dish) which was excellent, and tasted like it was fried with ghee. Friends ordered different stews and poultry dishes. You could spend 8-10 dollars and get a pretty good meal, or splurge for something extra and pay 15 or 20 bucks. They have a dining area for about 20-30 people maximum.

The menu is excellent, and it still offers people who know Lahore Pakistani food, exactly what they want! The guys at the counter are working very hard, and do not necessarily have the best service skills, or because of language differences perhaps, but their food is excellent and you can be assured that this is made in the traditional style of the cooking. Something I wish this restaurant had was a way to get more fresh greens into their menu.

The restaurant will leave one smelling strongly like spices, though they do have fairly good air circulation, so either wear clothes you'll take off after eating, or grab it for some of the best takeout in San Francisco.
