Mono king - apt 527

Review of Axiom Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Feb 22, 2020
The description of this room mention its size from 207 to 342 ft² (19 to 31m²). So, when we booked, we asked for the largest and quietest room availeble. Room 527 is very spacious and very quiete (its window faces to a internal garden). It's as quiete as possible but its quite dark becouse there is no direct sun light coming form outside. This lack of natural light would be diminished if there were more light in the room. This is our only suggestion for de the hotel administration: put some light in the ceiling close to the door and in front of the bed. Amazing and acessible location. We would certanly return.

Greetings 462alexandrer,

What a delight that your recent stay was just awesome at our Union Square property. The Front Desk is very often able to accommodate special requests, such as a quieter interior room, a city view or otherwise as desired based on availability. Great suggestion on the additional lighting! We're in the process of adding reading lights to guestrooms in the coming months to help with this as matter of fact. Thank you for your kind and insightful words, please feel free to reach out with any requests prior to your next San Francisco trip.

We look forward to your next visit!

Attractive boutique hotel inside a renovated old building on a superb location, closed to main sightseeings and transport hubs.
Decoration is unique and fun and rooms are comfortable and cozy. Shower could be improved as the water pressure is low and the temperature is difficult to adjust.
Despite some plumbing noise, place is really quiet.
Ammenities, such as the gym and the bar in the front are a plus, with several places to sit and relax.
A great address to come back.

Greetings BernatDesclot,

Wow - thank you for this great review. We will investigate the shower issue you highlighted immediately. Didn't you just love our Core Fitness Center? Fully stocked with the latest Life Fitness equipment, including a cable gym, all with HD TV, to meet a robust variety of fitness needs. Plus, with our central location in San Francisco, directly in front of the Cable Car Turnaround, you definitely have a new property to call 'home base' for exploring the city. If you didn't get a chance to check it out, The Turn Cafe offers an excellent daily Happy Hour, in addition to their full service food and beverage offerings.

We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!

Noisy floors, plumbing and poor working lights and faucets. This hotel is over rated. To top it all off they will sting you with a $30 a night “resort fee”. This place is in no way shape or form a resort. The closest thing to entertainment are three poorly maintained video games on the second floor. There are much better values to be had in the bay area!

It was raining. A valet took our car. We went inside the Axiom arriving at the reception desk. The staff were courteous, friendly smiles, and helpful. Within 5 minutes we were in our 5th floor room overlooking the cable car boarding platform. The beds were comfortable the room was very clean. The room temperature was just right. I went down to the first floor, ordered 2 drinks from the hotel bar and returned to our room. It was quiet and without street noise. Morning coffee served in the room was excellent. I would stay there again.

Greetings D7783YOmarkp,

It sounds like we were able to offer a fantastic visit on your recent trip. Don't you just love that some of our rooms overlook the world famous Cable Car Turnaround? We sure do! To remain aligned with our sustainability initiatives, our heating and cooling is linked to guestroom occupancy to constantly ensure the desired temperature is maintained. Plus, our Housekeeping team constantly gets rave reviews and we're delighted you noticed their superb attention to detail as well. The Turn Cafe does offer a truly great selection of items, how appropriate that you were able to enjoy some of that on a rainy SF day. Thank you also for mentioning the in-room coffee. Through our partners at illy, we're able to provide top notch coffee and espresso, all while remaining environmentally conscious through their pod recycling program.

Cheers and safe travels until you visit us again.

Axiom hotel was a lovely treat for me and my partner. We stayed last weekend during the women's march. It's perfectly located near where we needed to be. I looked up lots of places in the area to stay, by far Axiom was best for the price. Although small and tucked away in the Union square it's rather beautiful on the inside. The library reception is well put together. Hotel staff was young and lively. Rance the fella who checked us in was very manner able and polite, Eddy the valet and bellman was just as nice. Michelle the woman who checked us out was wide awake at 5:30 am when we left. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

Room tip: Ask for a high floor room

Greetings jflores2020,

Thanks a million for all your kind words, we're delighted that the Axiom Hotel was such a successful home base for your weekend stay. Our hard-to-beat location at Market and Powell streets makes exploring Union Square and downtown SF super simple. Plus, we love that you enjoyed our thoughtful design from the NYC based firm Stonehill & Taylor. Our design was driven around maintaining historical elements, while also instilling an accessible, thought-provoking and residential feel throughout. How nifty that you sincerely enjoyed the service provided by Rance, Eddy and Michelle - high five to each of them! For your subsequent visits, please let us know if there's any way we can make your stay even more fabulous.

Cheers until we meet again soon.

Our experience was remarkable and one to be bragged about on all social media outlets.
We contacted the hotel and spoke with the Manager Helen our flight was delayed by a day and we would not arrive on time. She assures us that our reservation was secure and there would be someone waiting at the desk when we arrived. I sincerely appreciate her honesty. We arrived a little after 1:30 am exhausted from travel and to our delight Ta'Shonnie was there waiting for us to arrive she knew of our delayed travel and had our room ready.
Such a pleasant surprise for us. She was polite and patient while checking us in, we were a bit jet lagged after 22 hours of travel.
The room was clean and spacious.
The bathroom was large equipped with hair dryer shampoo body wash and conditioner. We settled in perfect we stayed 3 days and two nights. Perfect stay
Rance helped us the day we left with a cab and our luggage.

Room tip: Ask for a room along the interior hall no noise at all

Greetings Ausy2020,

I'm ecstatic that you has such a functionally positive interaction with Helena, this is great to hear. Plus, being welcomed by Ta'Shonnie after a long and delayed travel day would certainly be a delight, in addition to your successful departure interactions with Rance. Once the jet lag wore off, hopefully you got to explore the ins and ours of our downtown boutique property, our Union Square neighborhood and the larger, lovely city of San Francisco. I'll be sure to pass along your feedback to our Housekeeping department who goes above and beyond every single day to welcome our guests as family and friends to our property. Fun fact, did you know the Axiom Hotel won the Hotel Council of San Francisco's Sustainability Award (among the 100s of SF properties) in 2019? This is a significant focus of our day-to-day operations and we're always taking additional steps to strengthen our sustainability initiatives.

Safe travels until we connect again.
