Owner description: Mile-long Baker Beach lies at the foot of rugged serpentine cliffs west of the Golden Gate. Large waves, undertow and rip currents make the beach unsafe for swimming, but it provides panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands and Lands End. You can fish or check out the shorelife along the beach and rocky shoreline. Restrooms and picnic tables are nearby.

Nice rocks on either edge. Lots of folks walking dogs. Went when it was raining so didn't stay long. Nice surf due to the storm!

I went on a perfect January day - it was 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky! We laid out on the beach and watched dogs frolic on the beach.

Baker Beach is beautiful! We biked there from the Legion of Honor which is actually a relatively short bike ride. We hung out for a while and soaked in the sun rays since it was an unseasonably warm day. We didn't bring a towel to lay on as we decided at the last minute to visit, so we walked down to the rocky end so we could plop down on the rocks and take in the views.

I totally forgot, Baker Beach is a nude beach (partly). The majority of it, people are clothed, but near the rocky end, nudity is allowed. It wasn't really a big deal/shock to me as these are just Bay Area/ SF norms. If you're visiting, don't be alarmed, it's allowed. Most people are cool anyways, and everyone enjoys themselves.

The views of the Golden Gate are awesome, and the hiking/biking in the immediate area are fantastic, I definitely recommend you check it out! Ciao.

While we were traveling around the San Francisco area found Bakers Beach and China Beach both were nice. Families hanging out, couples hanging out and everyone just relaxing. As someone in our group said, a good day drinking beach to relax. I like ice tea...haha....but others there had different beverages. Many bicycle riders. Beautiful day we had.

Located at the base of the Golden Gate bridge, this beach is a great place to visit. There are stunning views of the bridge and the west side of Marin. If you are into looking at homes, and you walk south, you are sitting at the base of homes that are valued up to $15 million. Lots of fisherman on the beach and people with dogs, couples, families, etc. This beach is good for everyone.
