This was the fifth time I have been on the tour and I have enjoyed it each time. The walk will take you to some of the most famous Victorian homes in San Francisco. The guide will explain the details of period and building details that distinguish among different styles. However, the tour goes far beyond an architectural tour de force by explaining the driving forces that shaped the Victorian age city. The tour begins at Union Square and concludes beyond Van Ness in the Cow Hollow district. Your tour guide will answer questions about the cultural, geographical, political and history of the city. A tour not to be missed.

I live in the Bay Area but decided to spend the $25 for this tour to get more information about the Victorians I drive by but never knew details of. Jay is the perfect guide - comprehensive, knowledgeable, fun and he added just a bit of gossip to spice up the almost 2 hours of walking through the Pacific Heights neighborhoods. Easy walk, no uphill climbs. It was only in the final stretch that there was a slight hill to walk down on. I highly recommend this to get to know the City more.

I really loved this tour - Jay was so knowledgable about San Francisco, its history and culture, as well as the architectural styles of the city, and its a great way to see all the amazing properties and such a beautiful part of the city. His restaurant suggestions were spot on (try Betel nut for awesome asian fusion) and he was extremely friendly. I recommended this tour to multiple people I met later on in my trip who were heading to San Francisco, as it was, by far, the best thing I did in the city.

This is an excellent way to absorb the history both of the area and San Francisco in general. Jay is very informative and very easy to listen to. Knows his local history and the architecture of the wonderful buildings we saw. An easy walk and a great way to soak in the local aura. The walk ends in the trendy Cow Hollow area full of intriguing little shops and enticing restaurants. I highly recommend this tour.

Jay did a great job conveying the wellspring of information he has about the architecture, neighborhoods and history of the area.

His restaurant suggestions were also great. I would definitely refer this tour to anyone who wants to see a part of residential history that the buss tours are not allowed to access.
