This is my second time in different occasions, definitely i was not disappointed and gave me the reassurance i was expecting when visited again this great restaurant. Together with my wife we walk from our hotel located in Union Square, and was very easy to reach.
to begun with a glass of Barolo, and came the appetizers Burrata cheese with withe corn cherry tomatoes, basil and sprinkled with almonds, great appetizer just the right size. also a Minestra Genovese a vegetable soup with pesto, followed by Scallops with squash, cherry tomatoes and black olive and basil butter, a real delicacy, also Riotto with shrimps..
dessert was a delicius gelato " coffee straciatella.
Service was very professional and a was extremely happy with the overall atmosphere.

Located in San Francisco's financial district within walking distance of the Embarcadero BART station and a California Street cable car stop, Perbacco not only provides some of the best Italian food I have eaten, but also offers excellent service once you get past the rather cramped entry area. The wine list, which primarily leans Italian, and food menu are extensive, with even side dishes so tempting that it's often difficult to choose among the pasta, meat and fish and side dish selections of vegetables such as fingerling potatoes with herb butter, brown butter brussels sprouts and pan roasted cauliflower. Desserts also deserve recognition. The restaurant is regularly crowded, and the only issues for diners may be the fact that the tables sometimes seem a bit cramped and the restaurant too noisy, something I have found is very common with San Francisco dining. Good for business dinners, as well as special occasions with friends, partners and spouses. Also try Barbacco, a few doors down California Street.

Scallops were done to perfection, Very few restaurants get it right like they did. Lamb risotto was also great. No surprise that this restaurant was packed even at 6:00 pm

We were there onJune 24, 2014 and it was excellent !!!
Service was good / Very knowledgeable about menu / Great suggestions
Wine list was extensive with some more accessible options
Only one small negative, our red was too warm and needed to be chilled a little.

Now onto FOOD !
Scallops were just fantastic (perfectly cooked and great in flavor)
Pasta (with Duck Stew) were just delicious
Even the appetizers (vitello & tonnato as well as the simple green salad) were amazing

Certainly a Top Spot in the great City of San Francisco

We had no reservations but were craving pasta and in the neighborhood. After a very short wait -even though the place was full- we got a couple of seats close to the door overlooking the entrance and street. The seafood, wine and cheeses, and again local bountiful local ingredients of California made of this dinner a feast of flavors. Freshest burrata cheese ever! Amazing Pinot. Totally worth it, every penny.
