We enjoyed a three course meal with excellent presentation and very good flavors. The entree selections could have easily been served for dinner. This was a complete lunch meal for just $13.

Fabulous food served with amazing presentations. Not the finest ambience, but very comfortable. Have been three times and have not been disappointed with anything. The people at the academy are amazing in their knowledge and the way they are learning. Very admirable. You have to try this!

Surprise your friends and take them to lunch on Treasure Island, that Yerba Buena exit from the San Francisco Bay Bridge that no one thinks of taking. Stop for a minute on the way to admire the unique views of the city and the bay. Then you have to find the place - take Avenue of the Palms to the dead end, turn right on 9th street, park in the parking lot on the right, walk between the buildings past "Cafeteria," past "Culinary Arts" and into "Fine Dining" (all on the left). You've made a reservation for a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at noon. In past visits it's been full, but today there were empty tables. The student staff greet you, seat you, take your orders and bring the food. For $13 you choose one of 4 appetizers, 1 of 4 entrees, and the 1 dessert. Beverages are tea, coffee, iced tea, with free refills. The food is interesting, plentiful and maybe not gourmet but fine-to-noteworthy, and you feel good about helping out the Job Corp staff with your business and smile. Each probably has a story to tell - we enjoyed speaking a bit with our waiter. No credit cards; linen tablecloths and napkins; pleasant room but no windows; lots of sincere service; we were wondering whether we could bring in a bottle of wine (n.b. - there are apparently several wineries with tasting rooms on the island). It has a very low visibility - we suggested they get a name and address and a website, and signage at the parking lot. A singular and charming experience.
