My husband and I attended a Sunday service and sermon while visiting San Francisco and i can not say enough good things about this congregation. They were the most warm and inviting people and i felt immediately welcomed and comfortable. This is a small curch with probably only about 50 seats for visitors and space for the musicians and i can't understand why their house of worship isn't larger and packed to the rafters because their message and music are fulfilling to the soul. Mother Marina King welcomed us prior to the start of the service and gave us a tamborine.
Did i mention the music?.....WOW!!! We were blessed with a vibrant jazz, choral, African drum, and tap-dance performace and expression of worship that was moving beyond any other experience i've ever had during any other church experience. Everyone was filled with joy and expressed that to everyone who walked in the doors.
I liked that the church was filled with children who helped during worship and that the congregation expressed appreciation for them. The sermon was from the parable of the wedding banquet and after church, everyone was invited to go help pass out water to the Occupy protestors. This church is putting their experience of God's love into action and i have nothing but great things to say about them.
I will forever consider this a "must-do" when visiting San Francisco.
