“Completely overpriced, understaffed and ridiculous food.”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Three of us for Sat. night dinner - EARLY - 6:00. It is basically incredibly overpriced tappas - mostly vegetable dishes made to sound chic. The ambience is o.k. We waited forever for service. At least a half hour between dishes. Couldn't find anyone for a drink refill. 4 total glasses of wine and a fish (very spicey- no warning) soup along with vege tappas and our bill was over $250. They are trying too hard to be hip or different, but are missing the boat. Fried dough with garlic and sourcream? Yuck! Oily and awful. Couldn't even eat it. Really disappointed, and frankly ticked off. Need more "mainstream-ish" food for those who dont like sunflower seeds and kale for an entree!!! Don't waste your money here.

“A really unusual and wonderful place”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

With a menu that changes often you never know exactly what to expect but you can be sure it will be delicious and slightly off beat.We tried farmers cheese dumplings, roast chicken,a spicy mushroom offering and a few other things. Its best to get a few thins and share.Food is fresh and of the highest quality.Location is slightly funky but lots of fun.Highly recommended for a different night out in a cool setting.

“Fabulous Food!”

Wow, Had a wonderfully unusual meal at Bar Tartine. The menu apparently differs daily and our whole party tasted all the ordered dishes. What wonderful flavors and combinations of ingredients. Reservations are required!

“Yummy with surprises”
Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

Just get away from the center of San Francisco and a world of great eats opens its doors. They call it a Bar but I call it a wonderful, airy eateries with pickled this and soupy that. Other reviewers have noted the various dishes so I will just say that the variety and freshness really can't be beat. Service was fine, the specialty cocktails good but mine was, let's say, weak and I would probably go for something less froo-froo next time. Heartily recommend and suggest you prepare to over-eat as there's so much to offer.
