Park Hotel : We stayed here in to see some of the city and to watch the Pride Parade 2012. This place has everything for people who stayed outside most of the day ; laundry room, kitchen, & vending machine besides clean and secure room. The front desk staffs were very helpful and friendly. Not to mention getting to ride in an old timely elevator was a real treat. Next time i"m back in San Francisco, I'll be sure to look up the PARK Hotel!

My girlfriend and I spent one night (Thank God) at Park Hotel. The experience was not bad, but the hotel was not what I expected. Luckily for me my girlfriend is super cool. First of all...it is not a hotel....it is a hostel with some private rooms. On the outside it looks great, but in the inside it looks, feels and smells like a hostel. I do not have any serious complaints or gripes, but I would not have chosen a place like to stay. On the other hand, the location is great. If you just want a place to crash for the night or a couple of nights...this is cool. Make sure you ask for a room with private bathroom. BTW - the place smell like a big ash tray and the elevator wants to kill you...lol

If it were called 'Park hostel' it would have received a 4 star review.
Views onto a wall, shared bath- and restrooms were not overly clean but ok, bedsheets had some minor tears, matrasses were not that good, ...
Upsides: it's cheap (compared to other hotels in the neighbourhood), has a great location and staff is very friendly.

Just don't expect it to be a hotel!

Room Tip: I'd take a room with private bathroom ... they looked larger and the shared bathrooms are crowde...

Me and my business partner had a stay at Park Hotel for 8 nights from 25th Sep 2012 till 3rd of October 2012 as we were attending a travel show there in the beginning we were trying to book a hotel near to the City Center and after good search we chose Park Hotel because of the good reviews we saw here on Trip Advisor which we always trust very much and we use it for all our business travels, This time we even felt more lucky because its not only about how good is the hotel and the location BUT how the staff at Park Hotel treats you! They are all amazing and nice people and they are very vey helpful and every time we ask the front disk about a place or a shop they bring us a map and draw the road for us on the map and explain us how to go and the best transportation we can use! We were really surprised because this is the same way we do in our country “Egypt” but we never expected that in San Francisco CA! in the beginning we were planning to stay for 6 Nights and for some business reasons we needed to stay 2 more nights and The Hotel Manager “ Rodel “ was very gentleman to us, he helped a lot to follow and to check the upcoming bookings status and he customized that for us for almost the same rate which was really great price compared to other hotels in San Francisco Down Town area. we appreciate all his efforts and also we can't forget "Eric" from the Front office, he was so nice and very helpful.
The Hotel was really in a very safe area and you can reach easily to restaurants and shops, It was also very clean and the house keepers are doing a great job and every time we come back to our room it was so clean and tidy.
We are in travel business for a long time and through our experience we really recommend this hotel for anybody visiting San Francisco, it’s nice, safe, clean and reasonable price.
Thanks
Hamad

Bought a bed for the night and the reviews and website looked great. Torn towels, view onto a wall, hostel setup in revolting decor. Complete misselling to use the word hotel in the title. Avoid at all costs.

Room Tip: Don't choose any room

This is not the place for a romantic vacation in san francisco. But for value this place is perfect - great location just behind union square. I had a room with a private bathroom and it was more than adequate. I would say that the decor is very basic (ikea furniture) , the paint job is a bit sloppy and the windows didnt have much sound proofing. But again - value wise it was great. My sheets were clean and so were the towels, its had an elevator that worked, and the showere pressure was great. If youre with friends you could get a roll away and share for $30 each a night - thats a great deal.

The hotel is very old, thats why is so "cheap" in S.F. . I didn't like it the room, the bed is not a bed is just mattress, the heater didn't work, the towels were torn and dirty. One nice thing is near to everything.
