“Good oysters and bread, service haphazard”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012 via mobile

Since it was pouring rain and I was tired and hungry, display of folks crafting bread animals lured me into Boudin. Crowd downstairs led me upstairs. No one seemed particularly happy to see me, but I was told I could wait a long time or sit at the bar. Almost left while waiting for a menu and service, but due to fatigue hung on to order oysters, a Sauvignon blanc, and a basket of sourdough bread. All were great--wonderful oysters. Had difficulty paying bill--bartender refused to run my credit card, indicating I needed to wait for waitress. Waitress running around trying tp serve a large bar area. Clearly, the place depends on tourists being stuck in the rain. Gave a good tip, waitress working hard. But good oysters.

“Breakfast was okay but I loved the gift shop!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

We ate breakfast at Boudin's on Pier 39 and it was average. We did not care for the organic coffee. We then walked to Fisherman's Wharf to the bigger Boudin's and it was neat to see the bread being made in the window. A large crocodile and lots of crab designs were being made. The store had lots of great items including olive oils, baking good, preserves, wine accessories, and of course, Boudin's clam chowder soup.

“Biggest bakery I've seen”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

The Bakery has a very vibrant atmosphere with huge displays of breads. You can watch how the bread is made and baked and then enjoy a meal either in the cafe downstairs or the restaurant upstairs.
