The Bakery has a very vibrant atmosphere with huge displays of breads. You can watch how the bread is made and baked and then enjoy a meal either in the cafe downstairs or the restaurant upstairs.

“Boudin on the Wharf”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

Very unique breads and store. Our hotel was a block away so we ate here often. The first time was by convenience the next three were on purpose. Breakfast can’t go wrong with the waffles but the scramble bowls are awfully good too! Get a loaf or two to take home cheaper than at the airport.

“Great bread; pedestrian food”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

Storefront bakery operation allows you to watch the bread making process (as well as smell the wonderful odor). So, I was enticed in to try one of their sourdought bread soup bowls. I wish I hadn't been. I left the dish half-finished and returned to Franciscan Crab House for good food.

“The Way Bread Should Be”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

As a huge fan of fresh bread and in particular sourdough bread this place is heaven. Plenty of choice and the shop is worth a visit just for browsing the items on sale and/or viewing the bakers at work alone, never mind the café.
