Arrived Saturday evening, just wanted to go to a bar for a few drinks. It was quite busy for a evening there. I am overall impressed with selection of whisky's they had available. Ireland's brand as well as Scotland's brand, believe me, I never seen Scotch older then a 12 year's at bar. They actually had a great selection from the different regions and saw a few that were 18 years. It was $20 for a shot of whisky for an 18. You know it's worth it when you know the brand and know the taste. It was great place to sit and have a few beers and then end the night with a great scotch to sip upon.

This is a great meeting place whether you be young or old. The Irish style decor and the fact that the pub entrance is in an alleyway gives a real sense of being in Ireland and not San Francisco. If you sit there long enough you can watch the shift changes from interesting office types on weekdays to groups of the younger set gathering in the evenings. Oh yes,and tourists like us! We'll kept beers and a good pub menu.

If you are looking for a real pub in the city and not just a bar then look no further - good pub grub food and a wide choice of beers/ciders/stout plus booze

We recently stopped here for a few drinks at the end of a night out. We sat on one of the tables outside, it wasn't busy, just us and another few couples. Everything was fine until my husband noticed a rat under the table next to us, and when we looked further, there were actually 3 running around. We live in a city centre, so we accept rats are common near food outlets but we weren't happy to have them so close to where people were eating. We decided to leave, and had just walked the ten metres to the end of the alley when I realised I had left my phone on the table from where we had been looking at photographs on it. Upon returning the phone was gone, the couple next to us said that only the waiting staff had been there to clear our glasses. However, when we asked the barman he was extremely dismissive and didn't really seem that bothered about a theft on his property, a male waiter turned around and walked inside when he saw us walking up to him, and the other waitress again didn't really seem to care, and was reluctant to even take our details in case the phone got handed in. I have worked in several bars and restaurants and I have never known people to show so little interest, to the point where we were left to assume guilty consciouses!! Really disappointing.

Christmas Eve, the wait was too long a the French place a couple doors over. Got attention right away, even though there was a huge party in one of the rooms. Outdoor dining in an alley. Sounds icky, but it was on a little lane off the main street. Not expensive for the City, friendly service.
