“Not what we expected”
Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

The aquarium was disappointing to us. It was quite small (we walked through it slowly and looked at everything, but still were outside again in less than an hour), and I expected more for $18 admission. The underwater tunnel and jellyfish room were the best things.

“Not worth it”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

We are big aquarium people and were disppointed at the cost vs. value here. It was small, many exhibits closed, no bathrooms inside. Many of the exhibits looked dated and run down.

“Under Construction - So Disappointed!”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

I wouldn't be so disappointed if their website had mentioned the closings. But, it didn't. At least that i saw. So, I loaded up three small children and only found out AFTER we had paid and entered that we couldn't access many of the features. To give credit where credit is due, the ticket office did tell me they were giving us a discount due to inside construction. However, it was never mentioned that there were closings! The only thing we really got to see were the tunnels. Which were cool for sure. But definitely not worth the trek downtown and entry price (albeit slightly reduced). CALL AHEAD before you go to find out what is open that day. I would love to return when the Otter exhibit opens and when the other attractions are accessible. Thank heavens there's plenty to do in that area or I would have been downright mad!

“Average at best”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

This won't be to everyone's taste, if you have done anything from a big London aquarium to Discovery Cove at Disney this will not hit the mark.
We went as it was included in our City Pass vouchers, it's quite small and full of children and prams. So a Pro would be its a great way to keep the children entertained for an hour.

“Nice Exhibit on Pier 39”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

This Aquarium was included in our City Pass for San Francisico so we made the visit, and were glad we did. It doesn't appear very big from the outside, so we were wondering if we'd like it, but it has an ample size for the price. We especially liked the assortment of Jellyfish, baby rays and leporard sharks (you could touch), and the cool octopus. There was a lot of small school children there, and it got a little loud at times, but for the most part was very interesting. There is a small booth outside the aquarium were you can talk to someone who answers your questions about the animals, and allows you to touch the shark jaws etc... She was very imformative, and nice.
