“Really nice food!”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

We were here for a group event in the cute library, which is down a hallway and out of the way of the main restaurant. The whole north side of the building is windows, however, the view over the bay is meh... you have to look past the car park and the other buildings to see into the bay.

Our group was small, 13 in total, but the waiter assigned to us seemed not to grasp that we all might want a drink when we first arrived. We soon got him going and the rest of the night went smoothly. The passed appetizers were nice, and we had a limited menu to choose from. My crab bisque (in a mini sourdough bowl) was very tasty, to be followed by a crispy salmon (perfectly cooked) and two mini desserts. If you fancy death by chocolate you must try their Valrhona chocolate cake. I am a chocoholic and even I could only manage a few bites!

All in all it was a good experience and I'd definitely go back the next time in San Francisco.

“Great breakfast”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Great breakfast! We shared one of the waffles, which was massive. Really good coffee too. This is a really cool place to eat with a great atmosphere.

“Nice view upstairs in the restaurant, but low service”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Had a great time visiting the Boudin Restaurant, however just a few things could have been better. Starting with the recipe for the clam chower....too chunky and not creamy enough. The sourdough bread is awesome, the clam, spinach and artichoke dip is great, great wine selection. Service was lacking....too busy or not organized. Took too long (2hours) to order, eat (wine, drinks, appetizer, meal and check), our waiter who was sweet, seemed flustered and stressed out. No sense of humor because he was running around like a chicken....otherwise, it was still pretty good. I would recommend Aliotto's for the clam chowder.

“Best breakfast ever!”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

While we were in San Francisco, we stopped in at Boudin Sourdough Bakery & Cafe.......the SMELL alone draws you in..........fresh bread baking, and you can watch it being made by hand.........the breakfast bowls are incredible, our friend had the french toast and declared it the best she had ever had! You HAVE to eat here while in San Francisco!!

“Hey - traditional SF”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Gotta go if in the area as it bakes about all the sourdough in the SF area. Went to the café for breakfast and the upstairs for a lunch. All was excellent even if a bit overpriced. Am a fan of GOOD sourdough and they make the best.
