“Good food, but not for the price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

My family and I were in San Francisco for a legal conference. We decided to try this place because it was close to our hotel. The food choices were all freshly prepared that day. However, the portions were small and very expensive for the size of the plates. Other restaurants in the area offer larger portions for the same prices. This is a $$ restaurant with $$$ pricing because you must order some extra sides in order to eat enough to be full.

“Quality and Healthy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I both had the chicken salad with carrot, pickled cabbage amongst other ingredients. Chicken was moist and well flavoured. Fresh light and healthy with nice atmosphere sitting in maiden lane with a double bass player highly recommended.

“Great Place for Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

This is our favorite place to eat lunch near Union Square in SF. They have wonderful salads, soups and sandwiches. They have a lovely outdoor eating area on Maiden Lane but indoor seating for inclement weather. You order and pick up your food and drinks at their counter. The food is all fresh and wonderfully prepared. My wife ate lunch here three days in a row because she liked it so much. I had the delicious seafood salad with shrimp, mussels, and calamari. My wife had green beans, roasted beets, and other beans. Another day we shared a fresh turkey sandwich with brie and cranberry sauce. A great place at a reasonable price. Be warned that they don't take credit cards so bring cash.

“A Pleasant Oasis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

After touring around SF all morning we were tired and wanted to get out of the heat so were very happy to find Mocca. You order yourself inside, they have a great variety of salads and sandwiches to choose from and then bring the food out to the street patio. It was lovely and shady with live music, very pleasant. The food was very good, I had the pasta/ seafood salad and my husband the tri tip sandwich and we were both very happy. It was a perfect break from site seeing so if you find yourself in the Union Square area at lunch time, check this place out.

“Very good food, incredible location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2013 via mobile

We had two different sandwiches and they were great. Especially the Tri-Tip of beef sandwich is soooooo good...
The beef was cut on order from a large piece that was boiling in the souce.
Prices are good for the quality of food they offer and considering the awesome outside seating near Union Square even better than good! We payed between 9 - 14$ for our meales. And we got a lot of beef on our sandwiches!
We had nice weather and could sit outside. The Cafe is on a street that is only open for pedestrians and you look directly at Union Square (which is just 50m away)!
There also were a lot of locals here which is always a good sign!
Overall, this place was the perfect lunch in SF downtown we were dreaming about. Highly recommended!!
