My husband and I ordered 3 plates to try a variety of things, and they were all delicious. The blueberry pancakes, the croissant sandwich, the French toast..all great. And the cappuccinos-best of our 7 days in San Francisco ( & we had at least one a day somewhere!)

We ate here once during our week stay in SF, and visited based on the good Tripadvisor reviews. The food was very good, but also expensive for what you get. So very good food, but a poor value in our opinion.

Service was as follows: there were a couple younger gentleman servers that were outstanding. They were polite, decent, and genuinely cordial and accommodating. However the kitchen staff (cooks) who may have been the owners (just guessing) were a bit rude and would come give the evil eye as soon as you ate your last bite as they wanted you to immediately leave so that they could get more people in.

We were seated, had our orders taken, and had our food in less than 10 minutes! So they are really fast. But the second we finished, the cooks were wanting us out of there since there were obviously people turning away when they saw the place was full from outside. The cooks would go outside to try and tell people to come in anyway as tables were almost ready.

We got up to pay at the cash register (we didn't even have our bill yet) and just gave cash since we didn't want to take the time to pay by credit card since they were obviously wanting us out of there quick. So all in all we were seated, ordered, ate, and left all in about 15-20 minutes. It was quite rushed.

At an off time it might be more enjoyable here, but the prices are high for what you get so I'll leave it as 3 stars.

We had intended to eat at the Waterfront Bakery but fortunately for us it was closed and we ended up at Joanie's. The food was delicious and the staff was ver friendly. They were quick to take our orders and refill our drinks and get us anything we needed.

Nice traditional breakfast but no menu. At the end we paid 68 dollar for our family breakfast. Some hotels nearby have discount coupons for free orange juice.
