“Great service, creative tasty food”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Enjoyed a window table where we could watch passersby while enjoying our fine dining experience. Service was great -- friendly and personal while still maintaining the fine dining feel. Never had to ask for tea or water refills/more bread as servers anticipated our needs. Service was well paced with courses arriving in a leisurely fashion allowing us to enjoy each one fully and enjoy some conversation before plates were cleared and next course was delivered.

Food was tasty, especially seafood items. Everything was well presented and creative. The tasting menu provides good variety, many flavors, everything well balanced and nuanced.

Highly recommended for fine dining in San Francisco!

“Outstanding Food, Service and Atmosphere”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

What can I say about Michale Mina? I've eaten in many of very upscale restaurants in SF and this one ranks at the top! The food and service are impeccable! Their servers are very attentive. Although I have to warn you, it's very pricey. If you've never dined at Michael Mina I suggest you dine there just for the experience. They have valet parking beginning at 5:30 every evening. There's also a parking garage walking distance from the restaurant.

“Great food in classy but noisy restaurant”
Reviewed April 23, 2013 via mobile

The good: quality of food is really excellent. As a spoilt european, i find most us retaurants disappointing. Here it is very tasty, balanced, high quality products and perfect cuisson. Service is attentive and professional. Wine list is extensive and wine waiter knowledgeable. What we found less good: wine prices too high, food price worth the money, but wine upcharge is demotivating. Very noisy restaurant, due to acoustics. Conversation with friends across the table of 4 difficult. Conclusion for us a very good restaurant, if food is the sole purpose.

“Food, Service and Price -- All High”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

This is an outstanding restaurant with great food and impeccable service. It is pricey -- over $200 per person with wine and tip included, but worth it for special occasions. The bread and spread would be a delicious dinner alone, but served as a great compliment to dinner. Each course was meticulously prepared and presented, mixing colors, flavors and food in an incredible display of culinary delight. The wine pairing was excellent with our six course dinner. It can be a little noisy when full. If you are looking for that special treat, this is the place.

“Michael Mina's reputation is well deserved”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

This restaurant opened up in the location formerly occupied by Aqua. The decor has changed, but the layout is still the same. Everything about the culinary experience was incredible. Rather than the cliched basket of bread and butter, the servers bring out toast with a mascarpone and black pepper honey spread (fantastic combination of sweet and pepper). The squid-ink conchiglie is a complicated dish with a lot of ingredients, but comes across with terrific flavor and an impressive balance. Presentation on all aspects of the meal was top-notch. The halibut dish was excellent with the pork belly adding some nice depth of flavor to the sauce and the potatoes that accompany the fish. Dessert was red velvet cakes with strawberries prepared three different ways. Outstanding meal with an appropriate ambience. Table spacing and accoustics were fine for a business meal. The wine list is very solid, but the prices for the wines are on the higher end of the spectrum. Overall, an amazing experience.
