The black lion was there for the Chinese New Year celebration, the year of the Snake and it was really fun and a great place to eat. Since the restaurant is located on the main parade route, how smart of them to have a wee bit of the New Year's celebration!
I went with 5 foodies and needless to say we did over do it a bit, but how can you help. I had the black cod and a special noodle dish for the New Year which was filled with fresh mushrooms and vegetables. DeLish and good for me.
My other friends had roasted pork belly, steak, curry, corn fritters ( one of their signature dishes),fried scallion bread with delicious mint yogurt sauce, calamari, just endless amount of really clean good food.
Prices were competitive and really in line with the quality. Serving nice was just not too much but not so small you wonder if you were eating in restaurant that is hip and cool, but doesn't really serve food.
The interior was dark, and inviting-not too hip but highly welcoming like a den. I like that.
My only criticism was the drinks were a little slow in coming, but we survived.
Definitely a place to revisit and make your own.
