Enjoyed a really good meal at Buttefly - Embarcadero. Food was fresh, tasty and arrived quickly besides the restaurant being busy. They had a good selection of cocktails and wine by the glass.

Staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating - making sure my girlfriends meal was prepared gluten free.

I did find the atmosphere lacking and soulless - it felt a bit like a warehouse that someone had stuck some tables, bamboo and gaudy decorations in and called it chic. The chairs made it feel a bit cheap and I found it strange that a lot of the window tables weren't facing the bay and when they were it was very dark outside - something a bit of lighting could have easy fixed.

Would recommend visiting Buttefly - Embarcadero.

Gluten friendly/celiac friendly.

There were four of us and we had a splendid time and wonderful water view. Service was spot-on and here are my two favorites of the evening: Kalua pig with butter lettuce cup appetizer and the entire table loved my Grilled Kurobuta Pork Porterhouse. The Calamari was also very good. We will definitely make an effort to go again when we are in the area!

Went there on a Friday at 5. It wasn't crowded which I found surprising because the food was excellent food. The waiter was very friendly but no in an intrusive way. The restaurant is a very short walk from Pier 39. Has waterfront views. Overall, it was a bit expensive, but worth it.

Right next to the cruise ship port. Very interesting menu with fusion of different cultures. Very creative. Reasonably priced but need to make reservations if you have a time concern. We happened to walk in after a SF Giants game and got the last non reserved table. Staff was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Complimentary Edamame (soy beans) was great to quench the hunger pangs. My wife and I shared an appetizer of lettuce wrapped Kalua pork (Hawaiian version of pulled pork) which was enough for 4 and split an entree. That was plenty for us. We'll be back!

We've been here a number of times, although on the touristy Embarcadero at pier 33 this is also a great neighborhood restaurant. They have Tuesday - Thursday Happy Hour with some great bites. They used to have a 'special menu' for those days with great prices, which may come back during the winter (we hope). Their food is just great and you may be able to get a nice table on the water and see the cruise ship docked just next door.
