“Nice breakfast ...”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

The food was good, but it was extremely busy and at one point, they asked us to wait outside and shut the door on us, which was a little rude.

“Apparently it's An "Institution".....”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

....and if I ever even think of going back again, I need locking up in an institution, of the mental kind. Offhand (at best) service, very average food, overdone poached eggs and messily served, bland tasting, corned beef hash for me. 2 of our party had the Swedish pancakes with maple syrup, which would have been more accurately described as maple brown water. Not good. We were seated in the basement, along with many other victims, an area that has clearly missed out on any refurbishment in the last 40 years. Thank goodness we had the excellent company of our friends Amow and Smoo to smooth over what would otherwise have been a get up and leave immediately situation for us. Look elsewhere for brunch at the weekend, there's plenty of good, much better, choices in San Fran.

“Indulgence”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

This legendary eatery boasts of numerous stellar patronage. However we were unaware of this but were drawn by the quaint exterior and the range on offer for breakfast while strolling down the street looking for a late breakfast. Once we were seated we were treated to an astounding list on the menu. The pancakes were very large and the fresh strawberries were a beautiful accompaniment to the stodginess of the food. The discovered after 40minutes we couldn't finish what we ordered! The coffee was exemplary and has an european flavour. All in all it was an experience to savour.

“A Fine Store.”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

We had breakfast at the Sears Fine Food which located not far from Union Square. We had coffee, orange juice and shared seafood omelette, total $26, tax/tips included. This as an inexpensive place to have breakfast, service was good and cordial. Restaurant setting is quite decent.

“Very good meal reasonably priced”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

The menus is limited but the place has some personality, the wait staff was excellent, and the meal was very good. I'd go again.
