We have been visiting San Francisco every year since 1995 and we cannot miss a dinner at the Oriental Pearl. For us the best chinese restaurant in town
The owners are always so friendly ...and the food is great
The best plate is the Peking Duck
Really worth going

The food is mediocre at best and overpriced. The spare ribs were dry and tough and only two to an order for $7.75. The steamed dim sum was only so so . But the mein Lee noodles with seafood and vegetables were barely edible. Greasy noodles , few pieces of frozen limp shrimp, one piece of frozen calamari and one scallop. Small amount of bok Choy ncluding the hard ends thrown in. The servers were nice , the owner is officious and off putting.

It is a chinese restaurant with a regular menu. No special meals (even chinese). The food is average but expensive. Not recommended with kids.

OK, being Chinese, when you walk into a Dim Sum restaurant for lunch and not many tables are occupied and the ones that are, are all Americans... I get a little nervous. My dining partner and I had a flight to catch and wanted to get our last Dim Sum fix in before heading to the airport. The restaurant is on a second level, we were greeted and seated by the hostess (?owner).

Up front I will say the service was very very good, We ordered: Beers, Spicy Salt Shell Prawns, Shrimp Dumplings, Shrimp and Chive Dumplings and BBQ Steamed Buns. The food came out hot and fresh and tasted good. I'm glad I tried this new place for us. Would I go back, maybe... but with so many other choices???

Atmosphere: nicer than most typical Chinatown restaurants. Service: very good, Food: good.

We visited as part of a Chinatown tour which included dim sum here. The cost of the 2 hour tour was only £30 including dim sum so we didn’t expect the food to be that great. In fact it was really excellent....as good as we had at hakkasan! Service was also great and nice ambience. What value!
