My most favorite Italian restaurant in the entire state if California. The food, staff and ambiance is just amazing. Great host with Lorenzo.

Allegro Romano is a realtively small, relatively intimate Italian restaurant toward the northern side of San Francisco which offers a menu of substantial variety, very reasonably priced for the city. The owner is an agreeable, ever-present fellow who appears to keep services at top level. My wife and I do not live in San Francisco but often make a point of patronizing Allegro Romano when we plan a dinner there. We have had excellent meals there, salad through dessert. The wine list is robust enough to satisfy a wide variety of tastes and expenditures. When crowded, the restaurant can be a little noisy but not offensively so. On the walls are signed photographs of a good number of famous personalities that have patronized Allegro Romano but there is no hint of aloofness or formality to the restaurant. The only downside is the difficulty in finding a parking space in the near vicinity. The admonition is to arrive early, especially on a weekend. Other than that, a great choice.

Small, quaint bistro in a quiet neighborhood ... a excellent way to being our long weekend visit to San Francisco ... food was wonderful ... every course, every item tasted better than the last. Lorenzo took personal care of us and attended to every detail.

The truffle fettuccine was to die for. The atmosphere and service was also top notch. I would highly recommend this place. It is a little out of the way but well worth it. Fantastico!
