“Authentic Chinese cuisine in an authentic Chinatown joint!”
Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

If you're like me, you go eat where the locals go eat because you want the real deal. Yee's is authentically Chinese to its core. This place is not about decor, its not about changing the menu to cater to Western taste buds. This is a Chinese restaurant for Chinese people and those that love real Chinese food. Full stop.

For the adventurous eater there are many tasty "bits" to try from the Chinese barbecue selection along with the a stellar Peking style duck and crispy pork. Honestly the window display had my mouth watering and when I peered in and saw full of Chinese people (and hardly any Westerners) I knew I found a gem.

I came in by myself and wishes I had others with me so I could order more dishes everything looked so good. So if you want the real deal, you MUST try Yee's and bring your friends so you can order plenty of dishes. You won't be disappointed.

“Authentic Chinese”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Try the foods displayed in the window, especially at lunch time. Ignore the menu and try to convince the server that you really do want real Chinese and not the Americanized versions. I had 5 slices of duck and a heap of white rice and green vegetables for $7! A pot of tea and a slice of cucumber for desert were included!

“Authenic chinese at a steal of a price!”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

Go where the locals go...this is it! Large portions, most served family style. DE-licious & fresh! Don't be put off by the chinese menu! Our waiter was easy to communicate with. Entire meal for two with one glass of wine each...under $25! Awesome

“Chinese home cooking”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

The best 'home' cooking meets and authentic chinese dishes, especially the goose! No fancy atmosphere here, just great food.

“Near the end of Chinatown; Great Food!”
Reviewed August 19, 2011

About five adults ate here one late afternoon after a flight into SF from the East coast. One of your group closely spoke the Chinese language. We got a table with about a 10 min wait. They only serve you chop sticks to eat. They do have forks, but you will have to ask for them. We tried the goose dish, the duck, chicken and livers with wonton soup. We were very surprised at the good service and large portions of food. It was very good. We even took food to go. The price was very reasonable; better than what you would expect in SF area. Stand in line for an hour for good food, large portions and very reasonable prices.
