“Great view, mediocre food and service”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

Right on the ocean, sunlight can be intense in the mid-afternoon as the windows face west. Service was so-so, odd the waitress was unfamiliar with the term "draft beer" since it is a brewery restaurant. Our food order took almost an hour to arrive during which time no bread was served so we just sat and waited with our drinks (ice tea and water not refilled until food arrived). My hamburger and sweet potato fries were cold(!). The guy at the table next to us also ordered the hamburger, and 45-minutes later he was still waiting for his order. Food is average, entree prices can be staggering for a place like this. Expect to spend at least a few hours for lunch waiting for a table and then for your food. Best to order a salad, which is supposed to be served room temperature unless you like your hot food served cold. Many better options in San Francisco.

“Nice place to meet up with a friend”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

I met up with my friend for dinner one of the Saturday... We ended up sitting there for hours just to chat and enjoy the ocean view, the music and drinks after dinner. It was very relaxing and I wish I could be there now.

“Good food and great view”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

In the city for the weekend, we decided to try the Beach Chalet and were able to make reservations. We arrived and were seated immediately while others without reservations waited. The restaurant is right on Ocean Beach with a nice view of the water and we had a nice view of the setting sun. We ordered a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced along with fish and chips, seafood pasta and steak and all were excellent and fairly priced considering this place is popular with locals and tourists alike and was packed the Saturday night we were there. Arrive a bit early and enjoy the wonderful murals in the lobby downstairs.

“Cozy place to enjoy a meal and an ocean view”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

The food was okay - my burger was burnt, however, the sauteed rainbow chard was delicious! This is the ideal place to experience slow service, as the ocean view and ambiance were great - we were treated to an awesome surfing show while waiting for food. Best enjoyed with a drink. You can also wander downstairs to the GG Park Visitor Center and enjoy the historic fresco paintings while waiting. Not crowded on a Sunday evening.

“It's all about views!”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

Not the place you will want to go for gourmet food, but the views over the ocean are hard to beat, specially at sunset. Fish and chips was frankly mediocre, this is no way to fry a poor fish... Their beers (we tried a few...) were nothing special, microbrewery is not necessarily synonym with quality, although of course this will depend on taste.
