After a disappointing culinary weekend in San Francisco, I was thrilled by my experience at Campton Place Restaurant. Not really flashy but from the moment you step into the restaurant, you feel at home. The maitre'd is excellent (sorry forgot to ask him his name) and wine sommelier is knowledgeable without being snobby. We had the 3 course meal, which was just enough as we added a truffle course and was given 2 amuse bouches, a palate cleanser and some after dinner sweets. Really great but unpretentious service. Food quality is exceptional. Really world class. Haven't eaten at Coi but this restaurant should merit consideration for the Top 100 restaurants in the world.

Outstanding welcoming service, a very knowledgeable sommelier, and then there is the dining experience. Whether you order it or not, a selection of three champagne is brought to your table. For dinner, there is a choice of four tasting menus, 1 -5 course, 2-6 or 7 course and a 9 course, each with little surprises from the chef. Our table opted for the 6 course, without wine pairings. Each course was delicious. Freshest ingredients, perfectly prepared and flawless service.

My husband and I celebrated our tenth anniversary at the Campton Place and it was off the charts as a unique food expereince. We had the five course menu and every item was a work of art, cooked to perfection. We contemplated the extensive labor involved in setting-up the presentation for some of the dishes. From lobster to steak to vegetarian dishes, everything was creatively constructed and delicious. The service is impeccable but not pretentious and has a way of making you feel that you picked the right "special destination." The meal was perfectly paced, which is what we were looking for -- I couldn't believe that we had spent over two hours dining. We felt catered-to and were never lacking. I would definately dine here again.
