Tried Salumeria for lunch with party of 6, enjoyed chickpea soup, salads, sandwiches, hot plates, and cookies/scones for dessert. Food is good but not outstanding in any way. Diners order and pay at the counter, server brings food promptly (we were there by noon, so no crowd). Prices reasonable for San Francisco--$6-12 for lunch entree. A few "salumi" (Italian for prosciutto, etc.) available for purchase. The atmosphere is pleasant, would call decor "rustic deli", not too noisy, staff are cordial. Neighborhood at 20th Street and Bryant is well south of Mission, quiet and safe in daytime. Wine available, did not try any. Gluten-free options available.
Worth a try if location is convenient.
