I've been to dinner twice now over the past week. Once on a Thursday and once on a Friday. Thursday the place was about 3/4 full and Friday it was entirely full so reservations are a good idea. We had them both times and were seated immediately. Ambiance is new/trendy and comfortable. Decent space between tables and the bar area is entirely separate from the dining room so you're not bothered with people standing or walking by your table continuously.
Service was good both nights, but I will say the level of knowledge, attentiveness, and enthusiasm between servers seems big. Our server was great, knew the menu, suggested options (including alcohol pairings), and was totally on it. I didn't see this mirrored with everyone else though.
Food was good. Both times we had the guacamole (made at your table) and enjoyed it. First time I had the chicken enchiladas. They were OK, but I wouldn't order them again. Second time around I had the skillet style carne asada which was really good. Finished it off with two flan and one of the cakes for dessert and both were great.
It's a little on the expensive side for Mexican food even by SF standards. Patrons were dressed either business casual or looked like they were making a night of it. No hoodies or overly casual crap like that. A number of folks gave some pretty bad reviews, but look at what they complained about and give it a shot. I hope the places
