“Awesome sushi”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2014 via mobile

Long story short:

Came here with girlfriend. Ordered chicken karaage, cherry blossom sushi (unbelievable), nabeyaki udon and a bento box dinner set (selected salmon sashimi and gyoza).

The food was great. The standout was the cherry blossom sushi (tuna, salmon and avocado). Best sushi I've had in a while.

Service was great - Thai lady and she was very bubbly.

Would come back.

“great for carry out too”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2014

I was on business, needed to work late in my hotel room, and wanted something delicious for dinner. had heard about Mikaku, which was just a block from the hotel I stayed at. the waiter was very accommodating and friendly in helping me pick out a 'to-go' dinner: soup, salad and lots of delicious sushi. the itamae was a very intense person, taking great care in preparing the meal, even though it was carry out. price was about average (i.e., for san francisco) but the food was great. this is a small place near the gate to chinatown, and if I hadn't been in a hurry I would have stayed in.

“Tasty; would go back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

We were recommended this place by our concierge because we were looking for a ramen restaurant. This place does not serve ramen. However, we enjoyed our lunch here. My wife ordered the tempura soba and I ordered the katsudon. The prices were not too outrageous either, and we would go back if we had the chance. The service was excellent and friendly as well. However, if you are traveling with small kids, note that this restaurant is on the smaller side. We had to squeeze in for our 10 month old's crib.

“Nice place to eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2014 via mobile

Had dinner at Mikaku at least twice as it was literally next door to my hotel. The place was quite busy every night. They do a special dinner deal for $18, the menu contains a soup, salad, rice, tempura, choice of meat and sushi. Food is very tasty and fresh and it is a bargain for the price above. Recommended.

“Very tasty and friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2014 via mobile

Went here 3 nights in a row as it was close to my hotel. Sushi good and fish fresh. Good prices and great selection of rolls.

Size of sushi rolls varied each night but for the price, can't complain.
