Near the financial district, there are not too many choices. We were staying very close to A.G. Ferrari and stumbled upon it one afternoon. Yes, it is overpriced, but, after staying in San Francisco for a week I found most places overpriced (the average price for a sandwich in 4 different restaurants all across the city was $8.00, go figure). The service is great and the selection of Italian Deli food (panini, pasta, antipasta etc.) was perfect for us. We went here often and got take-out. This is a good place to stock up for a picnic lunch. If you are near Market & 3rd check it out.
