“Very reasonably priced, good Persian food with great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2014

I went here for dinner with a friend who grew up in Iran. The restaurant is in North Beach - a cool neighborhood to walk around in. The restaurant is clean, the service is attentive and the food is great. The price, for San Francisco, makes it a relative bargain. I recommend this place.

“Not what we had in mind”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2014

We love eating at interesting places, but we were really sorry that we did not walk out of this one after we were seated. The minimum charge for lunch was $15 per person. The hummus was only OK and the baba ganoush was tasteless, as was everything else. The service was horrible. We were the only customers except for a couple of guys who were clearly friends of the one service person working (combined maitre d/waiter/bartender). He seated us next to the guys, and then spent the entire time with his back to us at their table outlandishly guffawing, talking exceeding loudly, and ignoring us. When we got home, we found that he charged our credit card as a debit card, despite being told it was credit. The whole experience was unsavory and made us angry.

“Excellent Persian food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2014

We had dinner here a few weeks ago with the family. I tried something new; a ghorme sabzee lamb shank. It was wonderful – even though I’m not a huge lamb fan. Nice and tasty and super tender. My wife went with two skewers of Chelo-kebab Koobideh (a mixture of ground beef and lamb). We also tried a couple apps: Baba ghanoush (smoked/pureed eggplant) and feta cheese spread. The family liked the eggplant and I liked the feta cheese spread. We finished off with cream caramel. As always, all the food was very tasty. Service is also great here. The only downfall of this area is the horrible lack of parking availability. But that’s San Francisco for you.

Go here for wonderful Persian food.

“Excellent Persian Restaurant in SF”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2014

Visiting from Los Angeles, I wanted some Persian food in SF. Looked up Maykadeh and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is average size and well laid out. The food is tasty but on the more expensive side but the portions are good. They have a bar and parking is with a valet (I paid $10). I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

“Persian in North Beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2014

Delicious Persian food. Am a vegetarian so tanked up on the appetisers. My son liked his chicken very much while grumbling about prices. The restaurant does not take Amex so had to get the son to pay. They had a great chutney. Wish they had barberry pulao to round off the Persian experience
