We took advantage of the Kimpton November restaurant deal and were pleased with the service and the quality of the food. Staff were knowledgable & friendly and servings were generous.

“Best Crab Cakes!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

I've eaten crab cakes on the east coast and gulf coast and these were by far the best. The Crab/corn Chowder was nice too.

“Sub-Par Chowder House”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

This was a lunch spot on our trip through San Francisco. The atmosphere is very cool with a nautical theme. It's down by Fisherman's Wharf, so an easy spot to stop by if you are down there wandering around. The food, however, was quite lacking. All of the chowders are made with bacon or a pork product, except a small selection. I had high hopes of trying the chowder, but the fact that you couldn't get more selection as a non-bacon eater was disappointing. My husband ordered their chowder still & was disappointed in it. It was runny, not thick & chunky like chowder should be. It was hard to even find a piece of clam in the whole bowl & the flavor was not great. Having been out East last year, this chowder was not worth the stop.

Had one hour break for lunch during our full day San Fran tour. I had there combo which for a small green salad and clams with linguinni. Very tasty- I am a big fan of shellfish. Taste ws perfect. My bf had the fish trio that had a shrimp shishkaba- salmon and scallops I think. all very tasty. Worth a try!

“Good seafood lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

The chowder here is fantastic. Cream based but not heavy like New England chowders tend to be. Try the California chowder Lots of good veggies as well as clams. Calamari and raw oysters on half shell were excellent too. Sour dough bread tasty. A must if you are down to Fisherman's wharf.
