“Marina District Jewel”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

First time diner at this interesting San Francisco restaurant jewel. California French twist on the menu with small plate menu which means sharing. The beauty of this type of dining is that you can try several items without settling on just one. We had a table for four and shared the Butter lettuce salad, Baked Laura chenel goal cheese (yum), seasonal fish, pan roasted range chicken, rack of lamb, flat iron steak and some vegetables. Everything we ate was cooked nicely, potatoes were incredible, spinach flavorful and the chicken was best choice from all four of us. Lively place, can be a bit loud if sitting next to locals. Make reservations and enjoy a walk after dinner in the beautiful Marina District. We did not have dessert, which now is my only regret.

“Great service and staff”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

We had a really nice experience at Isa. We were asked where we preferred to sit and we chose the back patio room which was quiet, intimate and warm. The wine that was recommended was very good. The bread was delicious. We chose a variety of plates to share - the oysters, asparagus, scallops, prawns as well as the chicken and mashed potatoes were delicious. We were a little disappointed with the fish of the day and the flourless chocolate cake (but I love this dessert and so am very picky) but the vanilla bean gelato was good. But by far the most outstanding part of the evening was our waiter - he was so enthusiastic about the restaurant and the food and all of us ended up laughing and having a great time. We would go back just to be waited on by him!

“surprisingly good food in the Marina”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

Without a lot of pretense one of the better restaurants to be found in the Marina District. A small place with nice ambiance, a bit dark, which my wife found very romantic. The restaurant offers either a prix fixe dinner or a la carte dining. Happy hour is until 7 PM with 5 dollar drinks. No mixed drinks, only beer and wine. A nice reasonably prices wine list by the glass or bottle. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. The prix fixe dinner is 3 courses with about 6 or 7 selections in the starter and main courses and about 5 for desert for less than 30 dollars. There is some overlap to the a la carte menu with a dozen or so selections. Between the four of us we had an Arugula salad, butter lettuce salad both served well chilled and perfectly dressed with an assortment of cheese, nuts and fruits. We had a very nice diced, raw yellow fin tuna with sesame oil and avocado that was delicious and generous in its size. Sautéd calamari was garlicky and tasty. Our main courses consisted of two pasta dishes, a mahi maui fillet and my favorite a whole roasted Branzini, perfectly seasoned and cooked. A bit of work to eat but totally delicious. Deserts were good and unique: a semifreddi--half cookie and half ice cream blended together and served chilled. a cheese plate, and a grapefruit granite. All plates are meant to be shared and passed around. We had no expectations going to this spot, it was suggested by our friends concierge, we will return.

“Seasonal, Inventive, & Scrumptous”

Each time I come to this wonderful restaurant I have something completely different and I'm always delighted. If you have friends who don't mind sharing each others food then bring them along so that you can have tastes of several dishes.
