A chain of bakery/cafes in San Fransisco, La Boulange serves delicious baked goods,(try the raspberry flan tart ,by the slice or whole tart)or blueberry pound cake) Every bread and pastry is mouth-watering.We had the beef stifado and the citrus chicken with artichokes for dinner. Both were delicious.Friendly service, great everything! Wish we had one near us!

Plain terrible: hard and old bread. Got scoffed at by the waitress before she returned me the money. Seriously, don't call yourself a French bakery, it's an insult.

This a great place for brunch with a good choice of cold and hot options. Try the granola with yoghurt and fresh fruit salad, the breakfast omlette with potatoes and sourdough toast or the french toast with maple syrup and fruit salad. By the time you’ve added (an excellent and generous glass of) orange juice and coffee it’s not the cheapest option on the block (allow +/- $15 a head) but it would be unfair to call it bad value. Friendly and efficient service – I’ve used at least one other Boulange but found the ambience of the Polk Street branch particularly convivial. Also good for take-away filled baguettes and sandwiches and tasty quiches etc. There’s a hot lunch/supper menu, changed monthly, which we haven’t tried.

Eat inside or grab a table outside and watch the world go by while sipping the largest latte ever! Paris never saw a cup this large...GIGANTIC!!! Really nice menu, everything you could want for breakfast, lunch or a snack. There are many La Boulange's around the city....a nice edition to the Russian Hill/Polk St. area.

We were in SF for 3 days, had breakfast there twice. Croissants were excellent. Café au lait as close to genuine french as you can get (the French use a darker roast). Only thing missing was baguette and jam offered with the coffee (I did not see "1/3 of a baguette" on the menu ;-) ). A touch pricy, but probably ok for SF...
