I mean, this is not ice cream as I expect it, having being raised in Rome, but still, it does the job and tastes good; and if you're longing for something closer to gelato, Naia in North Beach is not far away!

My husband and I found this place while walking around the city after we had walked up Lombard Street. Stopped in for a quick treat- the ice cream was delicious! Cool family type/friendly atmosphere.

Delicious ice cream with great flavors. The smell of the fresh waffle cones is hard to resist as you walk by. Only issue is Chocoloate Chip Cookie dough is considered a summer seasonal flavor so not available from Labor Day to Memorial Day.

Best ice cream in town. Have dinner at Zarzuela then stroll across to Swensen's. A perfect evening. Careful, though, they close at 10:00 so eat quickly

This is located right in the middle of the a local neighborhood, Not too far from the Union Street restaurant row-shows or down to the Fisherman wharf area, or the crooked Lombard street. If you in a car, just stop by and pick up a treat, and it will be a lot better than the one at Ghirardelli Square. More like your own favorite ice cream parlor. No place to sit, so you have to take it with you. If you taking the cable car, take the Hyde street line and hop off at Union street. Once you got your treat, continue down Union to the Shops and restaurants or walk eight blocks on down to the Wharf area. Prices are the same for good ice cream anywhere in San Francisco, about $3 for a cone.
