After much research on tapas places in SF, we decided on this place. We were a little nervous as they don't take reservations, but we turned up at 9pm on a Saturday night and they seated a party of 4 within 30 minutes.
Service was fast and attentive, very knowledgable about all the food. The tapas itself was really good - the jamon was fantastic, as was the grilled octopus. Brought me back to Europe, food really is fantastic and the sangria was great too - but the best of all was yet to come. Tapas for 4 people (and we ate a lot) plus Sangria came out to just over $100 - for the quality of the food and the atmosphere and service, this place is hard to beat. Highly recommended.

Fabulous tapas! Ask for Arturo, and he will take good care of you. The food is out of this world, and the sangria will make you sing all the way home. Popular, crowded, and impossible to park, but worth all the hassle!

We went there on Friday evening, had to wait about 30 minutes. It was very noisy inside the restaurant, but this one was the only minus. Service was excellent, food was fabulous. One of the best restaurants I´ve ever been.

Being Spanish and coming from a family who own Tapas Bars in London I'm always dubious about trying out other places as they're never going to be as good (in my mind) as home, well this is one I can say changed my mind. We had to wait for a table to become available for about 15 minutes, which when you're sitting outside with the smokers isn't so nice but it was worth the wait.

We decided to just go with tapas and chose a selection from the menu:
Jamon Iberico con Pan, Tomate - Imported, Cured Iberico ham with bread & tomato
(on the menu its normally its the Serrano but we were offered Iberico as it was just in)
Tortilla Espanola - Potato & onion omelette
Boquerones con Piquillo - Fresh Anchovies with Piquillo peppers
Rollitos de Berenjena - Grilled Eggplant filled with Goat Cheese
(A new one for me and I think more for Californian tastes but still nice as the cheese was extremely mild)
Croquetas De Jamon Y Pollo - Chicken and Ham Croquettes
(Really delicious small croquettes, some of the best I've tasted)
Fabada Asturiana - Large White Bean Stew
(not too authentic but still nice)

None of the wines of the menu were familiar to us so we asked for a recommendation and the waiter actually allowed us to taste a couple to decide which we would prefer. The one we chose was a delicious red (and unfortunately I've forgotten the name so can't get any for home!!) and we joked that as it was a recommendation and tasted so good would more than likely cost us $90 - actually it was $35 which was a bargain for something so delicious.

The staff were great, friendly and helpful and we weren't rushed which is the typical Spanish way and as it was our 20th anniversary we were in no hurry to be shoved back onto the street.

Great evening, wonderful food and wine and a very tipsy lady was sent on her way home to bed happy. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys an evening of laid back tapas and wine with no over the top fussing and rushing.

This place is not a great one for short visits or first timers. The food is good authentic big plates of CA food. Service was not so good you expected. After starters nobody took plates away and thy took main courses to the table. Also all the time you had to push them to bring water, wine etc. We even took all plates and cutleries on side sofa and ASKED them to bring them away! Food was ok
