Toby being a UK carvery chain where the food is closer to Michelin tyres than Michelin stars! A fair comparison? Well the choice is down to how you want your beef sliced and whether you want it rare or well done. There is no selection of cuts. You simply choose between a child size portion or progress upwards to call an ambulance size slab of beef!
Cynisism about the limited menu aside the food is well worth the wait. The Salad is served with a reasonable amount of theatre and is fresh and tasty. The main course is well presented and choice prime beef rib, truly excellent. The sides are also very good.
The service is attentive without being cloying so even though the place was rammed we got the attention we wanted.
Unless you book there is likely to be a long wait in the bar. Not a bad thing as this is is lively and fun with an old club feel to it. There are also chairs and tables around where you can move to a quieter area and chat if you wish. It is likely that you will wait longer than you are advised at the door but the atmosphere is such that unless you have somewhere to go that really isn't an issue.
The trip to House of Prime Rib was a fun experience and I would definitely go back next time I am in the area.
