We showed up about 30 minutes after opening and the line was already about three storefronts long. After an hour wait we were committed to staying; after 3 hours we made it in! The counter held about 20 stools in elbow touching getting to know your fellow diners space. The wait staff was helpful, jovial, and welcoming. Oysters and clams were fresh and selection was varied; smoked trout and salmon were delicious, scallop sashimi was amazing; sea urchin was a creamy finale to our seafood feast. Had we known about the 3 hour wait, we would never have gone, but after experiencing this unique San Francisco dining gem, we know we would love to return.
