Whoever said that Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth has never been to Lucca's.
No visit to SF is complete without a stop at Lucca's.
From the lunchmeat to the rolls to the sausages to the focaccia to the soda selection, and everything in between - it's all good!
I've been going to Lucca's for over 30 years, since I was a kid, and would go there with a dollar, and get a roll for about 30 cents, and salame or coppa with the rest of the dollar. Yum!
The hot coppa here is reasonably priced and delicious! Love the regular coppa, salame, hot salame, and most of the other meats. All very good, and very reasonably-priced.
The rolls are excellent. Whichever kind you choose, you can't go wrong.
The hot Italian sausages are great! The price is very good, too! Excellent price for the quality.
The Focaccia - yum! Also the pizza with Italian sausage. These are good cold, and even better heated up - preferably in a toaster oven.
The service is good. Most of these guys have been there a LONG time.
It gets very busy at lunch time, but with good reason, and the wait is worth it.
To top it all off, they have a parking lot! Now, how many places in the Mission have their own free parking?
All I can say is, native or visitor, you need to go here, and make your mouth happy.
