The Farmer's Wife offers incredible fresh farm to table sandwiches. Interesting combinations of unbelievably tasty food. Don't miss this place for innovative, fresh, and organic food in the heart of San Francisco.

Ferry Plaza is an ever changing place to people-watch, enjoy a wide variety of food choices (especially at the Saturday Farmers Market!) and experience lots of fun foodie-based shopping. A must-stop on the Embarcadero!

We wanted to go over to Sausalito last week and thought the ferry was the way to go. So, off we went to the Ferry Building to have lunch and grab the 2:35PM ferry over. We had a ton of choice for lunch and settled on Gotts. Great outside dining and really good local food. Hamburgers, sandwiches and beer/wine are all fantastic. The Hog Island Oyster Company looked great as a backup. But, you can also pack a lunch from the market inside or grab cheese and wine and have it as well. Bunch of options.

The ferry was well run and super easy to navigate the ticket buying process. Kiosks were simple and there was plenty of help if you needed it. Price was reasonable, about $10.00 round trip. The ride is short and sweet, about 25 minutes and beautiful. On the return we got within 200 yards of Alcatraz and my daughter loved that.

My only caution would be during the summer if you bring a bike....you won't be alone so take extra time and patience. There were probably 200 bikes on our two ferries.
